To potentially get our postman fired

DP is a camera geek. On the weekend he bought a camera trap for catching wildlife in the garden. He wanted to test it out so set it up by the front door so he could test it by the kids going in and out. It's been there since Sunday.

So this evening he had a look at the footage with DD(5). There's us, there's the cat, there's the postman. Oh look, there's the postman having a piss against our garden wall Shock.

Our door is round the side of the house, so out of sight from the road. There's the door, the path next to the house, a small patch of grass and the neighbours wall. He literally posted a letter, turned round, knob out, pissed all over the grass and wall. Knob away, off to post more letters, obviously without washing his hands. Envy

It was done so casually it's hard to believe he's not done it before. On the plus side, he posted our letters first so that won't be covered in piss Grin. But seriously, who would do that?!

Thing is, we're in a village where everyone knows each other, and he's been the postie for years. But IANBU to report him and potentially get him sacked am I?! I have a slight pricking of my conscience if he did lose his job, but surely that's his problem, not mine?!

Definitely photo pinned to front door with 'please don't piss on my property' in marker pen. I think it's funny. But I've got a weak bladder so have pissed everywhere.

bumsexatthebingo · 08/02/2017 23:30

If you have a wee infection that involves you needing to immediately piss where you stand then you call in sick no?
I'm sure the idea that the postie may have been spraying infected piss up her wall isn't going to be of great comfort to the op!

Bearsinmotion · 08/02/2017 23:30

- how does he know where the kids wait about?

The Frozen push bike next to the door would have given him a clue.

Actually now I think about it I have noticed a funny smell in the garden, but I assumed that was the cats Shock

cory
Shopping malls tend to have many public conveniences and stores with public toilets. I'm sure RM workers are well able to work that out for themselves without feeling the need to relieve themselves among the shoppers.
Are you normally as patronising and sanctimonious as this GrinShock

Still interested to know how many of the pearl clutchers on here are sahp's or in jobs with access to a toilet whenever and however often it's needed .

witwootoodleoo · 08/02/2017 23:34

All these people saying he's out for hours and what else is he meant to do.... really? Women seem to manage without having to squat in bushes so why do men always seem to have an excuse to pee on things?

Fruitbat1980 · 08/02/2017 23:34

Soon after I moved into my first home (student days) I saw what I thought was the neighbour shit and piss on her own path. I was Shock Didn't say/ do anything as I was worried I wouldn't be 'cool' Hmm Turned out wasn't the neighbour - just a random girl/ woman who shits on others paths in broad daylight. Could have been worse OP!!! Could have been worse!

Funny how you've only remembered all these convenient loos and noticed a strange smell as the thread has gone on isn't it?

The Frozen push bike next to the door would have given him a clue.

I thought you said he came round at about 11.00.

Is it out there all day? Does a bike indicate that children congregate there - or just that they lean their bikes against that wall?

Bearsinmotion · 08/02/2017 23:44

It is, isn't it bit?

Do you have any hobbies?

OP posts:
Bearsinmotion · 08/02/2017 23:45

Yes, the bike is there all day. Is that funny too?

OP posts:
HappyFlappy · 08/02/2017 23:48

Is is a bit - I wouldn't leave a kid's bike out all day, especially in this weather.

Each to his own.

LexieLulu · 08/02/2017 23:51

Jesus some people on this thread!

I'd be miffed if anyone was pissing on my property OP, regardless of whether they were bringing my letters or not.

Please leave a sign, film reaction and let us know! Grin X

RedastheRose · 08/02/2017 23:57

You asked AYBU most posters say that YABU to report him to his employer. If you are not going to do that then that is the end of the post!

GatoradeMeBitch · 08/02/2017 23:57

Disgusting. I'd report him. Then if he does have an infection or whatever other excuses people are dreaming up for him, he can tell his bosses about it. If he's so ill he can't go ten minutes without needing to piss in people's gardens he shouldn't be working anyway.

BitOutOfPractice · 08/02/2017 23:57

I do as it happens and none of them involve filming other people without their knowledge or reporting them in the expectation of them losing their jobs as a result of that clandestine filming. I hope that clears things up for you.

I just found it odd that at the beginning of the thread the nearest loos were a mile away. Now you've suddenly remembered loads a lot closer. And it's only after lots of people have told you that YABU that you mention this smell.

And being as this is Aibu and you afield for opinions, I thought I'd give mine. Seeing as that's how it works

BitOutOfPractice · 08/02/2017 23:59

BastardBloodAndSand · 09/02/2017 00:00

Wouldnt bother me.........I would let him know I'd seen his willy tho 😂😂😂

Bearsinmotion · 09/02/2017 00:11

Err, I have said I will write a note instead Red. 4 times now I believe.

I was not reporting him in the expectation he might lose his job. I was considering it despite that being a possibility. I am going to write a note now instead.

I wasn't doing any filming, clandestine or otherwise, it's DP's camera, I didn't realise he'd put it there myself until yesterday.

Someone asked about the nearest public loos. They are in the next village. There is a field much closer. There is a pub at the end of the road, that I didn't think about initially until someone mentioned it. I hope that clears things up for you.

VestalVirgin · 09/02/2017 00:11

All the people saying he might have been desperate ... what do postwomen do, then? I don't think they get as desperate.

Ohdearducks · 09/02/2017 00:19

Yeah not nice, what if he needed a dump too would that be ok? I wouldn't get him sacked but I would tell him not to piss in my garden.
He can go and piss up the wheel of his van if he's that desperate.

OverTheGardenGate · 09/02/2017 00:44

I wouldn't be thrilled about it, but I'd assume he must have been desperate. I live in a village with a pub half a mile away but it doesn't open till noon. The village hall is always locked. There is a café half a mile away that also opens at noon. There aren't any big enough bushes, we look over open fields. The odd tree maybe, but it would be a bit obvious from the road, or indeed anybody looking out of their window.
So yes, I wouldn't be thrilled about it but I'd have forgotten about it by now - it's raining anyway so all traces would be gone.

PenelopeFlintstone · 09/02/2017 00:50

xotyl How nice that you have that turning sign. Good for you Smile
