To potentially get our postman fired

DP is a camera geek. On the weekend he bought a camera trap for catching wildlife in the garden. He wanted to test it out so set it up by the front door so he could test it by the kids going in and out. It's been there since Sunday.

So this evening he had a look at the footage with DD(5). There's us, there's the cat, there's the postman. Oh look, there's the postman having a piss against our garden wall Shock.

Our door is round the side of the house, so out of sight from the road. There's the door, the path next to the house, a small patch of grass and the neighbours wall. He literally posted a letter, turned round, knob out, pissed all over the grass and wall. Knob away, off to post more letters, obviously without washing his hands. Envy

It was done so casually it's hard to believe he's not done it before. On the plus side, he posted our letters first so that won't be covered in piss Grin. But seriously, who would do that?!

Thing is, we're in a village where everyone knows each other, and he's been the postie for years. But IANBU to report him and potentially get him sacked am I?! I have a slight pricking of my conscience if he did lose his job, but surely that's his problem, not mine?!

st least he can feed his family still!

All sorts of projection going on in this thread. OK, so our plucky wall-pissing hero is the sole wage earner for his family. Anything else? I know - he once saved an elderly lady and her cat from drowning in a very cold duck pond!! I bet you feel so awful now OP...

Personally I'd far sooner someone knock on my door and ask to quickly use my loo than piss on my wall.

You obviously didn't read about the delivery man a few weeks ago on MN that asked to use someone's loo.....he was reported just for asking!!!

Few years ago my window cleaner came. He did the front assistant the back. Went to put something in the bin, thought strange why is there a garden bag in the bin, picked it out, full of human shit. Got it on my hand as well Angry rang him and told them not to come back. If he had asked I would have let him use the loo. Dirty f**r

DH used to be a postie and would never have done this. He would occasionally need to go while on his round and would try to find a quiet spot in the woods, but wouldn't have dreamed of pissing in someone's garden. He definitely thinks you should report him - he won't get the sack probably but will get a severe dressing down and moved off your round.

Would your answer be different Happy if he was using this as a regular piss stop?

I admit that it would Bears

I am crediting him with being caught short in an emergency.

Lol at 'wash the wall down every now and then' as if cleaning postman piss off your back wall is just a normal part of the weekly cleaning schedule!

"No control issues here, your honour. DP wanted it somewhere he knew there would be movement to check it works, he planned to move it to the garden on the weekend. after he spied on some service providers "

if we are all so sure he would get sacked if reported but advise not to report, are we saying we disagree with their weeing policy and would like them to be allowed to wee in gardens Confused

He wouldn't get sacked. He'd get a slap on the wrists, and the 'piss' taken out of him at the depot for a while.

Those of you saying it's not a big deal, if it isn't then he won't get sacked, will he?
Well by reporting it you would make it a big deal and RM would have to be seen to be taking it seriously. You have photographic evidence and they wouldn't want headline in the local rag about them letting him off with a warning, as it would indicate a level of tolerance.

Anyway, that sounds academic since you have the sign up now but I'll bet posties have been having a pee in people's gardens, discretely, for years.
