Inspired by the other perfume thread, it got me thinking about what I used to wear as a teenager. I will forever miss Tramp, Moon Drops and anything by Yardley!

What are your favourite scents from years gone by?

Another vote for Max Factor geminesse. I loved that :( My signature perfume is obsession. I bought a bottle with my first wages back in 1989 and still love it now.

Oh Rainflower, my mum had a bottle when I was little and I loved it, great name too. I am so glad you said it LyingWitchinthewardrobe
Mine were the same as a lot of people have said but I also loved one that Miss Selfridge did in the 90's. It was called Ten I think it was in Roman Numerals on the bottle, I think about it a bit too much.Smile I always go back to Coco edp in the end.

Mari50 · 12/10/2016 07:33

Benetton Colors and CK one
Still wear the latter.

StrongTeaHotShower · 12/10/2016 07:35

I loved and still love Coco and Cinnabar. Chanel No 19 reminds me of my late teens/early 20s. Tom Ford did something called Youth Dew Amber Nude for Estée Lauder a few years ago and I still have some - goes for big bucks on eBay now.

SusanneLinder · 12/10/2016 08:12

Oh I totally forgot about Chique...used to dowse myself in that going to school in late teens ...smelled like a whore in distress...Grin

YouMakeMyDreams · 12/10/2016 08:16

At school it was always dewberry, white musk or exclamation.
My first Saturday job was on a perfume counter so I bought loads. Lou lounge which I hate now. Jean Paul gaultier. Loved issey miyake l'eau d'isse as well.
I worked there when CK1 launched bought a bottle recently for nostalgia after I smelled it on someone else.
Loved gucci envy was gutted when they discontinued it.

Doesn't perfume go off? How long do you use it for? I discard it after 18 months or so in case it's going off.

Redzer · 12/10/2016 08:28

Gloria Vanderbilt. Got through bucketfuls of the stuff. Think it was discontinued. Also LouLou and Channel No 5.

user1473454752 · 12/10/2016 08:29

Clean cotton from Avon, I now love Ck 1

Arcadia · 12/10/2016 08:36

Anyone for Fidji? I used it a lot in late teens early twenties.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 12/10/2016 08:42

Marking place for a wonderful catchup later!

I am obsessed with old/vintage perfumes, but to keep it brief today, the ones I associate most with my childhood were:

Ma Griffe
Je Reviens
Chantilly

All worn by my Gran

June (teeny tiny bottle- worn by my other Gran)

Moonwind, Timeless,- favourite Avon ones

I was given a bottle of Apple Blossom (Helena Rubinstein) and Heaven Sent (ditto) by my next door neighbour, my Mum let me keep the HS but poured the AB away as it gave her a migraine.

Mum herself had Emeraud, Caleche (still does) Mystere de Rochas and all the other usual suspects.

I asked for Elle (Faberge) one Christmas and was given the parfum, another teeny bottle.

The Impulse of my choice was the black one, Nirvana, or the pink one Captivation.

I grew into Givenchy III, Anais Anais, Ysatis, Obsession.....and still have bottles of all of them.

Perfume doesn't go off if it is kept properly- I snagged vintage bottles of Dioressence and Diorella recently, from the 70s and they are perfect.

Fortitudine · 12/10/2016 08:45

Dowhatnow - this one hasn't gone off - I do keep my perfumes in a cool drawer, so they are not exposed to light. I did have a bottle of Happy "turn", but I've just finished a bottle of Mitsouko that was years old and still smelt fine.

Flumpnugget · 12/10/2016 08:46

Loved and bathed in this stuff aged 16!
Also loved Tommy Girl, White Musk, Dewberry and quite often for birthdays and Christmas got bought those multi-pack vials from Next! Think they all smelt pretty much the same though...
