Inspired by the other perfume thread, it got me thinking about what I used to wear as a teenager. I will forever miss Tramp, Moon Drops and anything by Yardley!

What are your favourite scents from years gone by?

OP posts:
fanlight79 · 11/10/2016 21:32

Arden's Sunflowers, or Exclamation and Tribe!
Ooh an not forgetting the ever-popular with teenaged girls - body shop dewberry. Work toilet has air freshener that reminds me of this every dayConfused

jammyjay · 11/10/2016 21:32

I bought a fake bottle of LouLou by Cacherel from Turkey when I was 14. I thought I was the height of sophistication! Do you remember the advert?
Man: Lou Lou
Lou Lou: Oui, c'est moi.
Hmm

breakfastbap · 11/10/2016 21:33

Tommy by Tommy hilfiger

jammyjay · 11/10/2016 21:34

Oh my god fanlight I remember buying Dewberry, I even remember the little glass bottle it came in!

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 11/10/2016 21:34

i am still IN the 80's perfume wise...

I love Poison...dh does too when I wear it, but has accused it of being a godawful stink on other people.
Also not averse to a squoosh of Cinnabar...do they still even make that?
Charlie RED...very cheap and cheerful
Used to like Obsession too, but it never really lasted on me

And Paris...I had to give that up as it made a friend sneeze if I wore it...she liked it on herself and had no bother.

I am trying to find a replacement and have settled on Guerlain Insolence for the time being.

MrsBobDylan · 11/10/2016 21:34

Byzance by Givenchy. I wore it from 15 years old until they stopped making it 20 years later.

I absolutely loved it and am so sad I can't wear it anymore.Sad

Tissunnyupnorth · 11/10/2016 21:35

Another here for L'air du temps. God I thought I was sophisticated!

Pettywoman · 11/10/2016 21:36

Coco Chanel, reminds me of dating my ex, can't wear it now. When I was 18 I was given Christalle, another Chanel one. I liked that.

At school it was Body Shop Winter Dew. Everyone else wore Dewberry or White Musk and I thought I was so different and sophisticated.

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 11/10/2016 21:37

ooh Odyssey...yes...that was lovely! And LouLou.

cardibach · 11/10/2016 21:37

Cinnabar was my favourite. Haven't found another I like as much.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 11/10/2016 21:39

Haven't read the others but will go back and see if mine tally... Grin

Geminesse
Climat (Lancôme)
Aviance
Cote D'Azur (Avon)
Gucci (dark blue lid)

dinosaursarebisexual · 11/10/2016 21:40

Body Shop White Musk from the 80s, and Jovan Musk Oil. pettywoman haha!

ConkerTriumphant · 11/10/2016 21:40

My mum wore Chantilly Lace. I'd love to track some down for her.

NorbertDentressangle · 11/10/2016 21:40

As a student it was White Musk or Dewberry from the Body Shop.

Evenings were Opium or Samsara.

I reckon any of the above would give me a headache these days.

bertsdinner · 11/10/2016 21:40

I loved Lou Lou, I tried it again a couple of years back and thought it was awful.
Still love Obsession and Sunflowers.
I liked Aqua Manda/Aquamanda when I was a child in the 70s.
I also liked a 70s perfume called Sea Jade, I liked the name more than the perfume

GetAHaircutCarl · 11/10/2016 21:41

At around 16 I wore Anais Anais by Cacherel and thought it was the ultimate in sophistication!

Later in my early 30s I wore something that was sophistication.Tuscany per donna. God it was lush.

dinosaursarebisexual · 11/10/2016 21:41

There was a lovely one from Cosmetics To Go before it became Lush. Like Ginger but nicer.

thisismeusernameything · 11/10/2016 21:41

Oh wow, I'd forgotten that I always used to shower myself in anais anais and Lou Lou. My mum still wears both. She definitely needs new perfume.

bestofbothhovis · 11/10/2016 21:41

Marc Jacobs Daisy original. Will always be my favourite

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 11/10/2016 21:42

Boots 'Rainflower'

JuddNelsoninTheBreakfastClub · 11/10/2016 21:42

I bought a bottle of Lou Lou from the duty free on the way to my first holiday abroad in Majorca in 1989, whenever I see it or smell it, reminds me instantly of those happy times.

BrassicaBabe · 11/10/2016 21:43

Another white musk 80s fan here Blush

WhoopiGoldbergsCat · 11/10/2016 21:43

Byzance, I would love to smell it again, it would bring back so many memories of my youth, don't think they make it anymore though.

CruCru · 11/10/2016 21:43
