Inspired by the other perfume thread, it got me thinking about what I used to wear as a teenager. I will forever miss Tramp, Moon Drops and anything by Yardley!

What are your favourite scents from years gone by?

Oh and loads of Avon ones: Nightfall, Pearls and Lace, Moonwind, Timeless - I had loads of them, I was a sucker for a fancy name

FairNotFair · 11/10/2016 22:06

I used to douse myself in Hungary Water. Lovely - really sharp and citrussy with a rosemary edge. I spied it in Crabtree & Evelyn a couple of years ago - it smells completely different. Like loo freshener. I spent the day retching.

On another note, I still love Blue Grass, which smells like my mother.

bluddleuddleumdum · 11/10/2016 22:07

Coty's Imprevu. I lived and died in it for about 15 years. Anyone remember the name of that one in a browny coloured bottle (maybe orangey top) that was like essence of orange. Someone must have bought me a bottle in the late sixties and I adored it.

burdog · 11/10/2016 22:07

Clinique Happy or Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers. I liked to smell like I'd been dipped in sugar and fruit.

I'm more of a Tom Ford Sahara Noir, Velvet Orchid or Santal Blush or Serge Lutens Sa Majaste La Rose or A La Nuit lady now.

Grumpyoldblonde · 11/10/2016 22:07

Nonline, funnily enough RL Blue reminds me of the monsoon perfume. And whoever mentioned body shop Tobacco flower, I agree it was divine.

MattAffleck · 11/10/2016 22:08

Gucci Envy. I love it. Miss it so much. Envy

plominoagain · 11/10/2016 22:10

I've still got a bottle of Envy - gets used on special days only . In fact I've got the gift box it came in with some bits still in it somewhere !

BowieFan · 11/10/2016 22:11

I loved Opium. The perfume, not the drug, obviously.

Basically, if it seemed like something Alexis from Dynasty (who was and still is my idol) would wear, I was all over it Grin

A couple of people have mentioned Cinnabar - yes, they still sell it - bought some last week. It's now in a squarish bottle - think it's something like 'classic' range. Smile

burdog · 11/10/2016 22:12

YY to Bodyshop Dewberry and White Musk (was that boots?). Anything by Impulse.

bluddleuddleumdum · 11/10/2016 22:13

Oh I remember the orangey one now it was Aqua Manda. Also I remember buying Kiku. My mother always wore Youth Dew which was way too heavy for me but I kept a bottle for a while just to remember her by

AtiaoftheJulii · 11/10/2016 22:14

Paris. Used to wear so much of it at sixth form that my friends could basically track me through the corridors.

Fozzleyplum · 11/10/2016 22:15

Anais Anais is lovely; if I had a teenage DD I'd get her some as it's not heavy. I still love Cinnabar and Ralph Lauren Safari.

Eggsbutnobacon · 11/10/2016 22:16

Just Musk, Pagan and Coty L'Aimant. I still have the pink gift box which the L'Aimant came in from 1981 which was meant to be a jewellery box once the perfume was finished.
And even earlier than that Apple Blossom which may have been Elisabeth Arden, I can't quite remember.

flightywoman · 11/10/2016 22:19

bluddleuddleumdum You might be thinking of Aquamanda. It has been remade and is available again, but I don't think it's exactly the same - it's close though. Orange patchouli, lovely lovely smell!

My one is Givenchy III, no longer easily available if at all - I miss it SO much...

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 11/10/2016 22:19

Ellen I have a bottle of Hot Couture, it's like gold dust now and so expensive on Ebay.

Also love and often wear D&G Femme (Red top); so aromatic.

I also wear Creed Aventus even though it's an aftershave, it's gorgeous

flightywoman · 11/10/2016 22:20

Cross post!

Was Kiku the one in a yellow ball?

peppersaunt · 11/10/2016 22:20

First perfume was Anais Anais, followed by Calyx

UnsuccessfullyAdulting · 11/10/2016 22:23

Contradiction by CK. I loved it so much. Off to Amazon to look for a bottle now!

bluddleuddleumdum · 11/10/2016 22:23

Yes flighty it was in the yellow ball. Nice but not as nice as Imprevu. Aqua Manda must have made an impression on me though I still seek out orangey shampoos, shower gels etc.

bluddleuddleumdum · 11/10/2016 22:25

maddiemookins16mum · 11/10/2016 22:26

Panache.

VulvaInLaw · 11/10/2016 22:27
