Inspired by the other perfume thread, it got me thinking about what I used to wear as a teenager. I will forever miss Tramp, Moon Drops and anything by Yardley!

What are your favourite scents from years gone by?

Loved Wings, Eden and Amarige. Still wear Amarige now. It's lush.

mygorgeousmilo · 11/10/2016 21:45

Ooh Samsara

NorbertDentressangle · 11/10/2016 21:47

Oh wow Dinosaurs I'd forgotten about Cosmetics to Go. They did a really gorgeous bath foam that was quite patchouli based. Dark green in a dark coloured plastic bottle. IIRC it was called Phyto-something or other

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 11/10/2016 21:47

L'air du temps isn't eighties. It was created in 1949 and has been consistently popular and loved since its creation. It IS sophisticated....a masterpiece in a bottle, as it has been described. if you don't own it, buy it. It is sublime:

helenatroy · 11/10/2016 21:47

Another vote for Odyssey by Avon.

Lovefromhull · 11/10/2016 21:48

Fuzzy peach and wood musk from the body shop!

Grumpyoldblonde · 11/10/2016 21:50

Monsoon blue lagoon

OhMrBadger · 11/10/2016 21:51

Ghost Deep Night. I still love the smell but can detect chemical overtones in it now.

I'm a Jo Malone fan these days.

pinkywink · 11/10/2016 21:52

It was all about Cool Water and Tommy girl for me, caught my mum with a sneaky bottle of Tommy girl last year and tried to rob it off her but it was a no go !

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 11/10/2016 21:52

When I was about 15, Hartnell's In Love.

When a bit older, Je Reviens, which I still love.

I still use Amarige, and people often ask me what it is.

Vinorosso74 · 11/10/2016 21:54

I liked the Body Shop white musk for day and Samsara for night in my yoof

EllenDegenerate · 11/10/2016 21:55

The one named Champagne by YSL was simply rebranded as Yvresse and is still available. It's my mums day to day scent but I haven't smelt it on anybody else since I was a child in the 90s.

Ladybirdbookworm · 11/10/2016 21:56

So pleased Geminesse has been mentioned.
I remember buying a bottle of Le Jardin with my first wages from working as a YTS trainee

My DM wore Pagan and I manged to find her a bottle a few years ago - it was horrendous and gave us both a headache

windygallows · 11/10/2016 21:56

Calyx, Paris, Ysatis - the smells of my youth!!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 11/10/2016 21:56

Deci Dela by Nina Ricci.

Helpisathand13 · 11/10/2016 21:58

Memories! Yes cinnabar loved it and body shop dewberry! 80's rock x

EllenDegenerate · 11/10/2016 21:58

I used to wear Hot Couture by givenchy. Loved it, really must try to find a bottle on eBay.

Also Tobacco Flower from the Body Shop, it was gorgeous but very short lived, I only ever saw it on sale between 2000-2003. It cannot be had for love nor money.

Also Lou Lou blue.

fluffypacman · 11/10/2016 21:58

Chanel - Dune. It's still made and I use it. It takes a while to develop and is horrible initially. Been wearing it for over 20 years now.
I prefer gio Ella/Elle/she for day wear as its lighter.

Canyouforgiveher · 11/10/2016 22:01

In the 80's Anais Anais and I thought it was ultra chic and very sophisticated

I loved that perfume! I got some for my 15 year old and I love driving her to school because I can smell it.

Also loved Rive Gauche. Thinking of getting myself a bottle of that.

nonline · 11/10/2016 22:01

Grumpy I had something I loved from Monsoon, never found something as nice tho RL Romance reminds me.

Oh God, Dewberry!

windygallows · 11/10/2016 22:02

I forgot to add Diva by Ungaro. Very loud!!

CantChoose · 11/10/2016 22:02

Cacherel Gloria is one I really miss. Smells lovely and DH says it reminds him of when we first dated and he gets all soppy when I wear it :) it's long discontinued but I have half a bottle hoarded away in a drawer which I wear for very special occasions.

pineappleeyes · 11/10/2016 22:04

Tocade by Rochas. my mum bought me a bottle a couple of Christmases ago and I still love it & people always ask me what perfume I'm wearing . even when I've washed my clothes they still smell of it.

SilkandSteel · 11/10/2016 22:04

Exclamation and Vanderbilt. Paris.
Le Jardin was the one advertised by Jane Seymour (Dr Quinn)
My Granny always gave me various Yardley ones for Christmas - Black Velvet, White Satin, Lace, Pink Lace etc

bumsexatthebingo · 11/10/2016 22:05

Oceanus from The Body Shop and Cerutti 1881.
