Women on here

Being reasonably new to this site/chat app ...
Having read a few threads in the last couple of days and coming across a lot of unnecessary comments .. AIBU to ask why it seems a lot of women on here seem very quick to throw nasty, horrible insults at other women on here?
I know people are asking for opinions, but, not character assassinations...!
Shouldn't us mums/women stick together and help eachother with advice instead of throwing horrible, bitchy, comments around?

I said "would've appreciated" as a newbie but I can see how fun it is once you know the rules...

allsfairinlove · 17/09/2016 23:25

Found your thread pacific (nosy Blush) and FWIW, I think you were most definitely NBU though I would have probably been too scared to say so at the time Grin

DesolateWaist · 18/09/2016 00:19

none of you make me want to be a mum

I'm not a mum, but I am a viper, as well as being a bitter and twisted barren old hag.
The two don't always go together.
I also am like this in real life.

Gowgirl · 18/09/2016 08:15

I'm a mum, it has honed my viper instincts.....i used to be so nice and girly...

PacificDogwod · 18/09/2016 08:51

allisfairinlove, did you?! Grin
I cannot believe you were bothered - it was not that interesting.
And thanks for agreeing with me - of course I was right Wink

Being more of a viper is one of my greatest achievements and really useful in RL too

mycatwantstokillme1 · 18/09/2016 09:07

OP some of these responses have proved you right :-)

lemonzest123 · 18/09/2016 09:10

Hahaha pagwatch

Lweji · 18/09/2016 09:53

Sometimes you're the only reasonable person on a thread.

I am in a recent one, bar the OP on that who seems more sensible than the responders, who, IMO are totally missing the key issue Wink

allsfairinlove · 18/09/2016 14:16

Just comparing assflame burns pacific Grin

OP, I dont think everyone who is reading this realises you have another thread where you called everyone who disagreed with you a cunt.
So make your mind up about what you want from MN and how to use it.

scaryteacher · 18/09/2016 19:02

I think the OP didn't get the answers she was looking for on the other thread, and having rtft, I can see why.

fastdaytears · 18/09/2016 19:11

Ok off to AS!

user1473106504 · 18/09/2016 19:44

Well in the real world women in general don't stick together but here its just the internet, doesn't affect you like it could do on the outside world

Xenophile · 18/09/2016 23:40

If you need support, MN is probably the best place on the internet to find it. AIBU probably isn't the best place to look for support, but I have seen several threads that have started here and been moved elsewhere because the OP has needed hands to hold.

Every woman I have met from MN has been exactly as they come across on the boards. Intelligent, articulate and able to back up their views with evidence if that is needed. However, there are muppets who seem to post endlessly about how mean everyone is when in fact it's because they talk utter shite, pretty much continuously.

If you find MN a bit robust, can I suggest nethuns? They're lovely there, all glittery and sugary sweet. Myself? I'd rather have a bunch of women from here at my back when things get tough.

Also, on a not unrelated note, grow a thicker skin if honest and robust rebuttals aren't your thing, because the life of a military wife is chock full of women who aren't afraid to tell you where to get off.
