We have thunder and lightening and a torrential downpour going on.

Teen has just asked me if I'll drop her off later (yes) and then I'll have to pick DD2 up from school in the car because she doesn't have her jacket.

To be fair her jacket was soaked when she capsized kayaking last night anyway.

I'm in North West - it's rainy, unpleasantly muggy and just a bit rubbish.

The Midlands has been glorious this Summer, hotter than London on a few occasions. I am loving the continued heat. It is beautiful out.

I feel your pain. The twats at the Met said it would rain at midday yesterday. I hung 2 loads of washing indoors.

It actually stayed dry until 4 pm and it was windy to boot. I could have hung that washing outside. Bastards.

Come and lie on the sofa in the conservatory Itchy, you can listen to the rain battering the roof and watching the lightening through the glass. I will bring you food on a tray and generally look after you. You must like cats though, we have four :o

This is what we have, this photo doesn't the rain justice though. I opened the door for boy cat and he looked at me as if to say 'you are fucking joking right?' and then went back on the sofa!

They are on dodgy ground liz you don't start messing with women and their washing schedules. We should start a protest!

My washing machine died yesterday so I'm still waiting to see if I'm picked to win one on MN before having to fork out for a new one. I'm in danger of being smothered if the washing basket falls over though.

I'm in Dorset too - can't believe it. I went out at 6.30 having checked weather online - not a mention of rain let alone thunder & lightning !!!

North of Manchester here - fabulous and hot, the cats are asleep in the sunshine.
