The bloody weather people.

Hottest day of September for 55 years they said. Wall to wall sunshine they said.

So DD went to school with no coat.

I put shorts on.

It's so dark here I have the lights on, it's pouring with rain and thundering.

Bastards.

Absolute corker on the go over Barnsley and north Lancs!

zwellers · 13/09/2016 19:36

Approx six in the west mids thought amageddon had arrived. Black sky torrential rain and an epic storm. Office got struck by lightning. One heck of a bang

minionsrule · 13/09/2016 19:44

I was well peed off today - north west coast, forecast sun sun sun so put washing out this morning, come 2pm just as lunchtime finishes sky goes black and heavens opened - they have barely closed since then.
To top it off just sat down to watch my beloved Manchester City and the match has been postponed due to adverse weather - damn you weather gods, damn you all

minionsrule · 13/09/2016 19:45

Should point out I was sat in work when heavens opened, had it happened earlier I could have popped home as sky was darkening - but no, it had to wait till after lunchtime.... all I could do was watch and sob

WhooooAmI24601 · 13/09/2016 19:46

Ridiculously hot in school today in the Midlands, to the point where by the end of lunch time several children had sweat pouring off them. 6pm came and the sky was almost pitch black.

Mycatsabastard · 13/09/2016 21:39

The sun was out here for approximately half an hour. Then it started raining again. It was really hot and muggy though so the storm really didn't clear the air.

I have been checking the weather forecast for Saturday for DDs birthday trip out. Not even sure why I bothered. It's saying light cloud and very light rain showers. I expect a monsoon or scorching heat instead :o

We did have the most spectacular sunset tonight though.

London and it's roasting. Tube was like a fireman's sock.

Katherine2626 · 14/09/2016 17:49

I HATE HOT WEATHER!!! (Sorry for the shouting). I am sick of feeling hot and sweaty, sick of not sleeping, sick of showering and changing clothes and being too hot to garden, drive, cook, sick of getting behind stinky people in shops who seem to be strangers to soap (not many, but one is enough and he spread his 'aroma' round the newsagents this morning)
Roll on the proper autumn; golden sunshine, fresh air, a light jacket and the world is wonderful. Sleep is possible, and the autumn tints are a joy to behold. The dog is pretty pissed off too, and looking for the zip in her fur coat. These weather people need a well placed kick - they don't get it right often enough for the amount they get paid.

Oh, poor toodles60. Did you wander here from a fluffy wuffy site by mistake? [sadface]

Toocold · 14/09/2016 18:13

You can have the heat if you like, my hot fat pregnant body is not coping and all of the neighbourhood kids are screeching outside my house....including my own children so I should be less grumpy!

robinia · 14/09/2016 18:18

I'm in the south east and loving the Indian summer. More please Smile

CurlyhairedAssassin · 14/09/2016 18:22

I find the humidity in the UK the worst thing. You just sweat and sweat and it can't evaporate. On holiday in France this year it was 33 degrees most afternoons and it was lovely. Felt very comfortable to me because there were Clear blue skies and humidity around 50%, sometimes less.

Here in the UK in the north west it can be 10 degrees lower than that at the moment but feel like you're in a rainforest as it's 90 % humidity and overcast. We get a few drops of rain or a deluge that's over in a few mins and it's just not enough to properly freshen the air.

I can't wait for proper Autumn weather. I'm sick of feeling clammy all the time.

Rozdeek · 14/09/2016 18:24

toodles

Nethuns is that way luv.

Rozdeek · 14/09/2016 18:25

I genuinely don't understand why anyone enjoys this weather.

What's to love about sweating buckets and not being able to sleep? Confused

SoupDragon · 14/09/2016 18:35

Not everyone sweats buckets and is unable to sleep.

RepentAtLeisure · 14/09/2016 18:37

It's been so humid here that a workman passed out in my loft. Luckily there were two of them, I wouldn't have been much help.

Rozdeek · 14/09/2016 18:45

It's impossible not to when your airless flat is 31c.

Mycatsabastard · 14/09/2016 18:46

I would love to know what Toodles said on a thread about the weather that was so bad it was deleted!!

Well it's been lovely here today. I ventured out and bought a new washing machine which is coming tomorrow so will be throwing wet washing out on the line most of the day. Let's hope the warm air continues.
