The bloody weather people.

Hottest day of September for 55 years they said. Wall to wall sunshine they said.

So DD went to school with no coat.

I put shorts on.

It's so dark here I have the lights on, it's pouring with rain and thundering.

Bastards.

Considering putting the heating back on as Fife and freezing. Not seen the sun for several days - just dull, gray and getting dark.

Now where's the vitamin D chewy sweets DD takes every morning...

ronT · 14/09/2016 19:02

Not unreasonable to be miffed but accusing them of lying is probably pushing it.
The Met Office has the world's most sophisticated equipment for gathering weather pattern data but all they can do is make an educated guess based on the data they have. They can analyse the weather that is happening now with absolute accuracy. From that, they can make a calculated estimate of what the weather is likely to be doing tomorrow. What they can't do, however, is see the future.

Mycatsaninja · 14/09/2016 19:34

ronT , I can analyse the weather here too , without all that expensive, complicated equipment just by looking out the window 😂😂😂
And here in NI it was beautiful today !! 🌞

T0ddlerSlave · 14/09/2016 19:49

Had bad weather yesterday but glorious day at the beach today instead.

MrsDc7 · 14/09/2016 19:51

80's waistcoat.. I'm in north west too... pissing down yesterday... me and DH are sat having a BBQ tonight! Bizarre English summers x

Badders123 · 14/09/2016 19:57

My ds1 has an awful night last night, despite the fan next to his bed.
Ds2 didn't do too badly but didn't have covers on.
27 degrees here today so not quite so hot as yesterday but the storms we were promised tomorrow don't seem to be arriving :(
No air con where I work

Shockers · 14/09/2016 20:08

DS1 removed his ridiculously expensive work shoes and paddled halfway home in Manchester yesterday!

Whenwillitrain · 14/09/2016 20:11

82 bloody degrees today. I can't remember what grass looks like. My garden is just dried up dead stuff.

Mycraneisfixed · 14/09/2016 20:13

Nearly every pupil in DGS's primary school dressed up in their Roald Dahl day costumes and no coats as it was supposed to be hot! Heavy rain here in South Wales 😬

Gyderlily · 14/09/2016 20:26

Move to Scotland when everything is green to the point of jungle like and growing wildly... Today has been wall to wall grey, freezing heavy drizzle... Very depressing!

user1472391113 · 14/09/2016 20:37

Totally unreasonable. It was underlined that parts of the country would have rain.

gemma19846 · 14/09/2016 20:37

Peppercold a few hours after your post Manchester was waterlogged and all metrolinks stopped 😂 im also in Manchester and yesterday evening was horrendous 😂😂

user1472391113 · 14/09/2016 20:38

Perhaps these pampered school children always being picked up by car will learn about the British weather. As we all know, it is unpredictable.

Marymoosmum14 · 14/09/2016 20:51

Was about 30 degrees here until about 7 then we had a tornado.

user1472391113 · 14/09/2016 20:56

I wonder if we need to use the f word all the time, It has ever added anything to an arguement.

Rozdeek · 14/09/2016 20:58

What is it with all these posters coming and ticking us off for swearing Hmm

SoupDragon · 14/09/2016 21:14

No, but it has added something to many an argument.

DKPANESAR · 14/09/2016 21:14

They forecast. They can't actually see into the future. So they didn't lie, no.

cheekkatb · 14/09/2016 21:21

I do love a good weather thread! It was a lovely hot sunny day here ☀️

gillybeanz · 14/09/2016 21:52

Greater Mancs has been beautiful today, it was stifling at times. Grin

mysteriousbat · 14/09/2016 22:13

Very very hot in northamptonshire today. My office has freezing air con so i go from goosebumps at my desk to melting in a jumper outside. Never make the mistake of thinking it is a beautiful day so a summery top is needed. Because the air con is freezing and you will hate your arctic life by 9.30 am. I would personally like to keep the sun and long days all year but keep to a respectable 20 degrees all year. I hate ot being too hot, I can't cope!!

Mycatsabastard · 14/09/2016 22:32

user(whateveryourfuckingnumberis) This was a quite nice thread with some quite nice posts until you turned up with your fucking goady comments about spoilt kids in cars and your fucking goady fucking comments about the fucking f word.

So please go and fuck off to another thread if this one isn't to your fucking liking, there's a fucking love.

Fucks sake!

Its not the lying its the annoyance of the press publishing that we are all set to have it piping hot with blue skies instead it is a small part of the UK that gets it. I find that infuriating!!!! I am in Scotland and all it has done is rain. So a small part of the South East gets it hot and suddenly the UK is going to be baking hot Confused

boo2410 · 15/09/2016 00:11

Have to say here on the Norfolk/Suffolk border it has been blue skies and v hot all day. Even at this time of night it's stifling and I can't sleep so watching Supervet and wishing I had short hair!!

gemma19846 · 15/09/2016 00:24

Maybe them 'pampered kids' dont live within walking distance of the school OR their parents drop them off and go straight to work like alot of working parents do for fucksake!
