Following on from another thread which I found quite upsetting I thought it would be nice to say something positive about yourself.

I have really good skin and people often think I'm younger than I am. I also think I am a nice person with good morals.

OP posts:
bumblingmum · 05/09/2016 11:02

DoYouRememberJustinBobby I'm sure thats not true and you will be inspired to think of other amazing things about yourself after reading other comments.
I am a good friend, I have also been told I look younger than my age although I do have wrinkles at 40. I am very lucky to be naturally slim. I make great novelty cakes.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 05/09/2016 11:08

I'm kind to animals.

I'm not remotely empathetic which is really useful.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 05/09/2016 11:10

I'm kind.
I can be a good listener in a non specific just being with you kind of a way.

citybushisland · 05/09/2016 11:21

I can't think of anything I like about myself. I am not likeable, I am fat, I have an auto immune disease which both makes me fat and makes it hard to lose weight, people shout insults at me daily so now I won't go outside which just compounds the problem.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 05/09/2016 11:28

I'm sad that people judge themselves and others so much on superficial appearances, I think this attitude in our society does so much harm.
I'm sure there are some likeable things about you city, if you get to the real you beneath?
I'm sorry others haven't been kind to you, remember that's not everyone, just a very small minority of idiots.

Gottagetmoving · 05/09/2016 11:30

I am loyal and honest and willing to help others. I care about people who are less fortunate than I am. I don't hold grudges or fall out with people. I am aware of my faults. There's lots of room for improvement but I am prepared to work on it.

JaceLancs · 05/09/2016 11:50

I have lovely hands and feet, stunning blue eyes and great smile
I'm a fab mother and great friend to have
Good cook, ace knitter and crocheter
According to my staff I'm a good boss!

MistressDeeCee · 05/09/2016 12:02

This post/thread made me think. Ive realised there are several things I like about myself - although there are loads that I don't like - to do with society pressure on women I suppose but anyway what I do like

Im 53, clear skin, wrinkle free
Fit, and a good dancer (was a dance teacher for years)
Nice legs and my boobs are in right place
DD's say they can ask me anything & I'll advise and make things right, their friends come to me for advice too (I come across so harsh in writing tho!)
I'll drop everything for a friend in distress & I won't judge re what got them in trouble in 1st place either

Its nice to see women saying good things about themselves, so often we are encouraged not to due to stupid respectability politics that deem us vain and frivolous if we don't do the demure modest self-effacing thing. It felt odd listing what I like about myself in an "ooh Id better not say too much" kind of way

citybushisland if you have good friends & family around you I bet they don't deem you unlikeable. If thats a general consensus then you've the wrong people around you. I hope you find ways to feel better soon (I don't mean that in a patronising way) you've made a short comment but you've not come across in a horrid way at all

AnotherCostaFuckingCoffee · 05/09/2016 12:04

I want to know how the hell so many people in their 40s and 50s have no wrinkles?! I'm 37 with a face like crepe paper.

Having said that, I've got pretty good boobs and make a mean lemon drizzle.

MermaidTears · 05/09/2016 12:37

anothercosta
Some must be down to good genes!

But a good tip is to wear sunscreen everyday, under your makeup etc
Neck and hands (prevents old lady hands)
Also use manuka honey cream every night on your face.

If that fails there's always botox Wink

Bollyroo · 05/09/2016 12:43

Great thread! That other one was fairly depressing.
I can make my husband giggle at anything. I've got the most gorgeous belly button I've ever seen - although it's trying to pop out at the moment thanks to bump. And I'm pretty bloody happy with my lot.

PhoebeGeebee · 05/09/2016 12:47

I always write really good things in cards, never just 'happy birthday'. I put tons of thought into presents too.

I make awesome mix CD's for people.

I have good boobs and good skin

If I'm drunk at a wedding and dancing, and I can see someone wanting to dance but feeling self conscious, I always drag them up with me (usually evening guests)

GingerbreadGingerbread · 05/09/2016 12:58

I have nice hair and eyes.
I'm very empathetic.
I always try to be kind to people.

CaoNiMao · 05/09/2016 13:13

I can tie a cherry stalk in a knot in my mouth! I can also speak Chinese and do ashtanga yoga.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 05/09/2016 13:16

Not sure what I like best, my good looks, athleticism, charm, wit, intelligence, generosity, humour or modesty? It's a tough question.

RosettaPebble · 05/09/2016 13:22

I am a good listener.

My figure is pretty good.

I haven't had a drink for over two years

I have emotional intelligence.

oldlaundbooth · 05/09/2016 13:24

I'm very fair, fight for the underdog, am empathic and kind.

I'm a good cook, creative, very witty and have a good imagination.

I've got hair that's a great natural colour, stunning eyes and nice hands and feet. I've also got fabulous skin.

Good idea for a thread OP.

WetPaint4 · 05/09/2016 13:32

I have a lovely smile, I'm a wonderful, sweet person and I make the people around me laugh. I'm proud of my ability to be good at a lot of things and honest about the things I'm crap at. I love me Grin

Ryooki · 05/09/2016 13:36

OP, what a lovely thread to start! Thank you! Smile

I am tall and I have an athletic build which I love and work hard to maintain (not the tall part obviously lol).

I am fiercely loyal to my family.

I love animals and most living things. I went for a walk on my lunch break today and saved a bumblebee from the biggest false widow spider I've ever seen in my life! I freed him from the web (which was stronger than guitar strings!!) and then helped untangle his glued up back legs with little twigs I found on the floor. I was 5 minutes late back from lunch but it was worth it Smile Btw, I'm terrified of spiders!

Bowednotbroken · 05/09/2016 13:38

This is harder than it should be! I like my tenacity - I don't give in to challenges very easily so have stuck through hard times. I'm kind and try to be thoughtful!

onecurrantbun1 · 05/09/2016 13:50

I'm kind, but able to translate that kindness into practical support and help, which makes life nicer for those around me.

I have a good figure - I nearly put a good figure for saying I've 3 kids, but actually, it's good full stop.
I'm probably an "old head on young ish shoulders" sort.

HunterofStars · 05/09/2016 14:46

Maybe I was too hard on myself in the other thread Blush. Here are some good things. I taught myself how to cook and my food is amazing. I am passionate about disability rights, I am good at doing DIY beauty treatments and I managed to cut sugar out of tea and coffee after 5 years of trying Grin

CancellyMcChequeface · 05/09/2016 15:07

I read the title and thought 'nothing' but I've been trying to challenge my negative thoughts, so I'm going to try to come up with some things.

I was really good at my last job, and it made a real, positive difference to some people's lives. I'm a very dedicated and conscientious employee in general.
I'm good at academic writing.
I have a slim waist and can make my (not great) figure look better by accentuating it.
I like my waist-length hair.
I'm excellent at coping with crises. All my usual anxiety disappears and I get hyper-focused.

TheLastRoseOfSummer · 05/09/2016 15:10

I am kind and compassionate.
I have soft, smooth skin.
I have small feet.
I have a nice, neat, 'pretty' fanny unfortunately no one will ever see it now I've realised it, for reasons stated on t'other fred

Grumpyoldblonde · 05/09/2016 15:18

I have truly fantastic hair, was blessed with amazing locks. I am always ready to feed and water anyone who comes by, I think I am a good and generous hostess.
And, that's about it really.
