I'm seeing more amd more ridiculous "God save the queen" type posts on Facebook. Aibu to be sick and tired of it all. She's 90, big deal, lots didn't get to that age because of a lifetimes poverty and hard work. I mean real work not signing a few papers and getting chauffeured about.

OP posts:
Tattieboggle · 12/06/2016 19:49

she obviously didn't care about the thousands of people who had queued for hours to get a glimpse of her - she just wanted to hurry up and get out of there

I think she was well aware there was a schedule to stick to.

exLtEveDallas · 12/06/2016 19:59

Dallas your link referred to the military at Wimbldon in a working capacity

Yep. And getting paid their full trade wage to be there, assisting the public and watching all the matches Smile

I once got paid my (usually well earned) full wage, plus expenses to go snowboarding for 6 weeks. That was a blast. Oh, and the 3 week trip to Malaysia to dive Sipadan.

Perks of the military Grin (although it doesn't feel that way when you are waist deep in shit)

LineyReborn · 12/06/2016 20:03

She's fucking ninety and her husband is ninety fucking five.

seagaze · 12/06/2016 20:04

I'm sick of the whole lot of them, biggest scroungers in Britain. You'd think she'd at least have a pleasant expression on her face, all the hard work done by her subjects to celebrate her birthday and she's got a face like she's chewing wasps. Being 90 is no excuse for being miserable. If she doesn't want to do it , step down. She's got umpteen palaces with literally hundreds of empty bedrooms, (no bedroom tax for Liz) how does she sleep at night while so many are homeless without food. It's disgraceful.

OP posts:
derxa · 12/06/2016 20:07

she's got a face like she's chewing wasps That's exactly how I imagine you OP.

MrsSpecter · 12/06/2016 20:07

OP i really dont think there is anything anyone can say here that you wont just dismiss as absurd or rubbish. You clearly have created your own truth in your head and bollocks to anything that suggests otherwise. Youre welcome to your own delusions if thats what it takes to keep you happy (or miserable as you seem intent in being)

Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2016 20:08

I'm sick of the whole lot of them. I would never have guessed OP Hmm

MrsSpecter · 12/06/2016 20:10

I'm sick of the whole lot of them

No? Really? Who would've guessed that?

being 90 is no excuse for being miserable

Whats your valid excuse?

I think there's a middle ground. Just not thinking about them at all.

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/pension-credit-cuts-linked-to-increase-in-death-rates-of-over-85s-study-claims-a6933271.html
Carry on fawning, in the mean time, I and many more like me care more for pensioners who have to live on a pittance. Apart from that you royalists carry on insulting anyone who doesn't share your sycophantic views over an unelected family. Its so predictable but it's all you can do.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2016 20:20

I am not fawning. Confused I think you are being very predictable yourself now OP.
You seem to be getting more cross as the thread goes on.

LineyReborn · 12/06/2016 20:20

I don't think they're lazy and I don't think they're marvellous.

But I don't like the rhetoric.

Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2016 20:21

I wonder if the Daily Mail will pick this thread up? Grin

MrsSpecter · 12/06/2016 20:25

No fawning here. Im not even a royalist. I just think youre a whinge and youve based your whinge on sod all just for the sake of having something to whinge about. Royals = easy target for whatever grumble you have bubbling inside you.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 12/06/2016 20:27

Do my taxes pay footballers' wages? I think not.

Am I miserable and jealous if I don't like footballers? Not really.

Fawning and scraping over this family is just ... Infantile. And trying to convince yourself they work hard enough to merit castles and palaces and millions and millions of pounds is utterly futile

exLtEveDallas · 12/06/2016 20:36

Who's fawning?

I just don't see the point in being so needlessly vitriolic about a 90 year old woman doing the duty that was thrust upon her when her father died. Nor do I see the point in needlessly insulting a soldier for doing his job, serving the community, and helping people stay in (or get out of) their homes.

I support the Queen because I took an oath of allegiance to her and to not do so would make my a hypocrite. I support Prince Harry because he was a fucking great soldier and his resignation is a blow to a military that needs MORE like him, not less.

The rest? Meh, I can live with or without them. They don't effect me at all. They certainly don't make me bust a blood vessel on a parenting website Grin

Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2016 20:40

There's a Prince Phillip bashing thread appeared now. How nice.

I think Prince Harry is very easy on the eye. Is that fawning?

seagaze · 12/06/2016 20:46

spatkling I'm responding to insults, not angry! but what do you expect. Confused

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 12/06/2016 20:49

Oh are you? Confused

What did I expect? Not sure. Probably a predictable AIBU about the Royals as per. What were you expecting from this thread?

BeJayKayven · 12/06/2016 20:51

Sparkling the PP thread isn't at all going the way the op hoped Grin
