To ask what you had for dinner?

I cook, DH cleans. Every morning I ask him what he'd like for dinner and he always says he doesn't mind. I enjoy cooking and am happy to spend time preparing something nice but I'm out of ideas and bored of cooking the same kinds of things so am looking for inspiration.
Tonight I made sweet and sour chicken and noodles. What did you have?

Wotsits, dark chocolate, cheddar cheese and an apple. Then cereal from the packet.

Home alone. It was lovely.

LordTrash · 13/05/2016 19:50

Macaroni cheese.

underrugsswept · 13/05/2016 19:54

We're having curry out of a jar. It's DH's turn to cook and he's not the most adventurous chef.

kirinm · 13/05/2016 20:10

Home made burgers tonight I think.

iklboo · 13/05/2016 20:12

Sausage, egg & chips tonight

Oysterbabe · 13/05/2016 21:39

We had haddock, curly fries made with my spiraliser and peas. DH got a fish bone stuck in his throat and was in a panic thinking he'd have to go to A&E. I made him eat some bread. He's fine. He's unimpressed by how little of a shit I gave but in my defence as a kid fish was always served with bread to clear bones when one of us swallowed one, which happened often.

Chicken and roasted vegetables with lots of garlic and Schwartz chicken spice sprinkled over. Would usually have some gravy with it but had mayo tonight instead. Was delicious.

AdoraKiora · 13/05/2016 21:46

Cajun salmon, roasted sweet potatoes & peppers, steamed veg.

Mucho wine Grin

timelytess · 13/05/2016 21:46

salmon, salad with peppers and beetroot.

Cliffdiver · 13/05/2016 21:55

Toad in the hole with garlic mash and lots of gravy Smile

applecatchers36 · 13/05/2016 23:04

Pork with mustard/ cream sauce , potatoes, green beans was yum

GratuitousSaxandViolins · 13/05/2016 23:13

2 DDs and I had chicken risotto, DH had pie and chips! I only cooked the risotto because I was working from home today. Tues - Thurs we usually do something really easy like jacket potato or something out of the freezer (am I the first person on this thread to mention nuggets?) as I get home at 8pm and am knackered.

Some of the meals on here sounds amazing!

Shakirawannabe · 13/05/2016 23:15

Thai red curry, so easy to make and is amazing

mmgirish · 14/05/2016 04:39

stately no one orders a dish for themselves. Everything is shared.

HeckyWithTheGoodBear · 14/05/2016 12:21

I like the sound of your soy/orange dressing Hecky - what are the quantities?

I just made it up but I used the juice and zest from one lemon, equal amounts of soy sauce and the juices from the roasted chicken, a teaspoon of honey and a splash of balsamic and some salt and pepper Smile

LBOCS2 · 14/05/2016 12:43

I was very pleased with dinner last night, it was not only light and seasonably appropriate, it was also delicious and used up loads of odds and sods I had knocking around the fridge :)

We had salmon and scallop tartlets and sea bass fillets (both went out of date yesterday), with a green salad, coleslaw, marinated artichokes, and tabbouleh. I also made some bruschetta with a loaf of bread we'd bought for a bbq last week and was almost too hard for breadcrumbs and some very juicy on their way out tomatoes. DD had some homemade garlic bread, as I always keep garlic butter in the fridge to prevent arguments over the butter which comes with the dough balls.

And then I had a peanut butter magnum.

ShirleyNott · 14/05/2016 12:50

Thai peanut beef always disappears off my DH's plate within seconds.
It's really easy to make and quite cheap too if you use cheaper cuts of beef and slow cook it.

Rinceoir · 14/05/2016 12:58

Yesterday we had pulled pork from slow cooker with homemade red cabbage slaw (DH had big soft baps too). Tonight it's steak with onions and pepper sauce.

HeckyWithTheGoodBear · 14/05/2016 13:42

Not lemon! Orange Blush otherwise it wouldn't be much of an orange dressing..

DameXanaduBramble · 14/05/2016 14:30

Duck in orange sauce and French fries. White wine chaser.

Curviest · 14/05/2016 15:22

You really don't want to know :-)

ErgonomicallyUnsound · 14/05/2016 19:30

Tonight we had pork tenderloin salad with peaches and lentils plus giant croutons. DC not that sold but we liked it

lightgreenglass · 14/05/2016 19:36

Scrambled eggs on toast and a fab. I CBA tonight. Tomorrow I will batch cook and make beef ribs.

lightgreenglass · 14/05/2016 19:38

After reading some of those - I feel positively slattern!

CointreauVersial · 14/05/2016 20:55

Chicken Satay Stirfry, with noodles.

And a Gu pudding for afters.
