To ask what you had for dinner?

I cook, DH cleans. Every morning I ask him what he'd like for dinner and he always says he doesn't mind. I enjoy cooking and am happy to spend time preparing something nice but I'm out of ideas and bored of cooking the same kinds of things so am looking for inspiration.
Tonight I made sweet and sour chicken and noodles. What did you have?

McDonalds!

But last night we had grilled Cajun pork from Aldi. I served it with sweetcorn and homemade potato and egg salad.

When it is warm I tend to just make grilled meats and salads and sweetcorn.

Bits and pieces.
Cheddar, brie, beetroot, hummous, crackers, dill pickle, cous cous, hard boiled egg etc.

Oatmeal raisin cookies sandwiched with banana and raspberry cream cheese for dessert.

RatOnnaStick · 10/05/2016 21:13

Shepherds pie at mums. Dead boring but I didn't have to make it so it wins for me.

AStreetcarNamedBob · 10/05/2016 21:14

Falafel burgers and sweet potato wedges and salad

CharlieSierra · 10/05/2016 21:15

Chicken stir fry, except the innocent looking chilli turned out to be off the scale so it was inedible. I had 3 bits of chicken and a banana.

NatashaRomanoff · 10/05/2016 21:15

Paella, cooked by DH!

ktmummy1 · 10/05/2016 21:17

Sea bass with lime and ginger butter, jacket potato, salad and a slice of garlic bread

Lambly · 10/05/2016 21:19

Homemade meatloaf, homemade chips, cabbage and carrots. And Merlot.

nonline · 10/05/2016 21:20

Bolognaise that I made on Sunday which has lasted three days. Now depressed that I have to think of something else to cook tomorrow (and tomorrow and tomorrow...)

HeteronormativeHaybales · 10/05/2016 21:20

My 8yo made spaghetti with from-scratch tomato sauce, with help and supervision, but no intervention on the creative bits of the cooking, from dh. It was delicious.

thebestfurchinchilla · 10/05/2016 21:22

Avocado salad.

canyou · 10/05/2016 21:22

Prawn and vegetable omlette with garlic bread for DP, pasta for myself and DC.
Tomorrow is chilli chicken I have just put it into the crockpot. I have sweet potato soup in the second crock pot so tomorrow lunch and dinner is sorted. ☺
Some nice fresh ideas here for going forward

DH had the afternoon off and said he'd sort dinner. He bbq'd in the rain cos he doesn't like cooking... So we had lamb koftas, sausages & a big ceaser salad! Was yum!

Yoghurty · 10/05/2016 21:28

Chicken fajitas.
Last night was roasted butternut squash and feta salad.

CremeEggThief · 10/05/2016 21:30

Jacket potatoes with cheese and coleslaw, followed by coconut yogurt.

wiccamum · 10/05/2016 21:30

Spaghetti and meatballs...DH made!

Last night, sea bass on the bbq, salad and cannalini beans, and roasted beetroot.

Venison burger, pasta salad and broccoli. Never normally cook burgers but had some spares from a bbq at the weekend.

Random thrown together dinner but it was really good!

AdoraKiora · 10/05/2016 21:32

DH out, just me (shattered from work) and the DC.

We had 'breakfast dinner' ie. bacon and eggs. Twas a lovely rare treat and took 15 mins Grin.

Last night was chicken and veg noodle stir fry.

Tomorrow we are having pulled pork, garlic roast potatoes and various salads.

Chasing2959 · 10/05/2016 21:33

Love a food thread always looking for inspiration! Tonight was Beef stew cooked in the slow cooker with crusty bread.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 10/05/2016 21:33

Slow-Cooker Lamb Curry with Peshwari Naan...

LikeASoulWithoutAMind · 10/05/2016 21:33

Beans on toast.

Was meant to be mushroom risotto but I couldn't be bothered Smile

PurpleDaisies · 10/05/2016 21:34

Jar of curry sauce, frozen spinach, tin of chick peas and paneer with rice, lime pickle and salad.

Can you tell we were both in late and couldn't really be bothered? At least it was better than take away.

Nanunanu · 10/05/2016 21:35

roast butternut, red onion, chickpea and spelt salad with a tahini and feta dressing.

yes I am a walking guardian cliche but it is lush!
