To ask what you had for dinner?

I cook, DH cleans. Every morning I ask him what he'd like for dinner and he always says he doesn't mind. I enjoy cooking and am happy to spend time preparing something nice but I'm out of ideas and bored of cooking the same kinds of things so am looking for inspiration.
Tonight I made sweet and sour chicken and noodles. What did you have?

Ah…we've just entered the few weeks of the year when we get regular eggs and asparagus from the garden, so will be having that with sourdough toast!

flanjabelle · 12/05/2016 22:10

Spatchcock piri piri chicken (Lidl - it's amazing!) With sweet potato mash and buttery green beans. It was banging.

LBOCS2 · 12/05/2016 22:11

margarita, cawl?! It's not cawl weather! Cawl is for the winter!

We had tagine which I only just rescued as I got stuck under a breastfeeding baby and it caught on the bottom of the pan. It was actually surprisingly edible.

Drinksforeveryone · 12/05/2016 22:12

Salad with eggs.

MrsJayy · 12/05/2016 22:17

margaritasbythesea · 12/05/2016 22:24

It was fucking winter when I made it, I tell you.

Tuesday.

margaritasbythesea · 12/05/2016 22:25

@LBOC btw

LBOCS2 · 12/05/2016 22:32

Ah, following in my mum's finest tradition of cawl making and having one vat last for at least two weeks...

WildIrishRose1 · 12/05/2016 22:37

Chicken in a coconut cream sauce. I'm working my way through the Curry Nation book. Last night was pork ragu and pasta.

margaritasbythesea · 12/05/2016 22:46

Is there another way?

CheeseAndBeans · 12/05/2016 22:48

Cheese and ham omelette with salad. Followed by a rocket ice lolly!

ErgonomicallyUnsound · 12/05/2016 22:51

Linguine with spinach Parmesan cream garlic and a few crispy bits of bacon, with a green salad and a tomato and onion salad.

The night before we had asparagus and pea risotto.

JustBeingJuliet · 12/05/2016 22:54

Lemon chicken and rice with onions and red pepper. Was lovely :)

Landoni112 · 13/05/2016 08:23

Scrambled egg, spinach on toast cooked by dh, it's one of the only dishes he can do!

Oysterbabe · 13/05/2016 09:09

Last night we had cured salmon fillets with baby corn and sugar snap peas. Tonight we're having veggie frittata.

But tomorrow we're having mac and cheese Grin

green18 · 13/05/2016 13:52

Sugar , chocolate, wine, fat. Not really but getting a bit bored with this thread now!

Juanbablo · 13/05/2016 14:15

Last night we bbq'ed some sausages and had them in finger rolls with some salad.

I fancy quesadillas tonight.

HeckyWithTheGoodBear · 13/05/2016 14:38

Seabass with a cheesey parsley sauce & scallops in a garlic butter on a bed of root veg mash, roasted asparagus and vine tomatoes, pan fried samphire with crispy bacon & a red onion and cashew nut tapenade Grin never cooked Seabass before so decided to go all masterchef with it!

LBOCS2 · 13/05/2016 14:51

We're having salmon and scallop tartlets tonight. DD will have a fillet of sea bass, as she doesn't like food she can't identify.

Mostly I want chip shop chips and curry sauce though :(

mmgirish · 13/05/2016 15:25

We ate out tonight (not in the UK). We had half a grilled chicken with spicy sauce, beef with sesame, sticky pork, lemon chicken with crispy seaweed, papaya salad, chips and sticky rice - eaten family style.

Statelychangers · 13/05/2016 18:14

mmgirish how do you eat family style?

HermioneJeanGranger · 13/05/2016 18:23

We're having mixed seafood paella with a side salad tonight. Tomorrow is a butternut squash risotto.

HeckyWithTheGoodBear · 13/05/2016 19:28

Doing the seabass tomorrow as got my food shopping days mixed up Blush today I did soy, honey and thyme roast chicken with honey glazed roast sweet potato and carrot and an orange rice salad with onion and cucumber and a soy/ orange/ chicken juice dressing. Just chucked everything I had together but came out lovely! Perfect for this boiling evening.

Lollylovesbones · 13/05/2016 19:46

Seabass tonight with onion, chilli, ginger and garlic and some soy sauce served with vegetables and noodles. Quick and delicious.

I like the sound of your soy/orange dressing Hecky - what are the quantities?
