To ask what you had for dinner?

I cook, DH cleans. Every morning I ask him what he'd like for dinner and he always says he doesn't mind. I enjoy cooking and am happy to spend time preparing something nice but I'm out of ideas and bored of cooking the same kinds of things so am looking for inspiration.
Tonight I made sweet and sour chicken and noodles. What did you have?

hollands steak and kidney pudding (from lidl), homemade chips, processed peas, and gravy, with bread and butter.

a northern chippy tea but as I am in the south west now, I have to do it myself!

Am currently enjoying a toasted bagel and a negroni. Nigella I am not.

Had roast chicken served with salad and baby potatoes it was lovely and got to eat in the sunny garden.

MrsMonkeyBear · 11/05/2016 19:34

Beef stew and dumplings. I put it in the slow cooker at 5am (start work early) and DH kept an eye on it until I got home at 2.30pm. It's DD's favourite.

CrepeDeChineWag · 11/05/2016 19:35

Salmon, french beans, tabbouleh, mixed salad leaves, cherry tomatoes, grated carrot, cucumber, drizzle of dressing

NuggetofPurestGreen · 11/05/2016 19:36

Fish pie made with smoked haddock, salmon and cod in cheese sauce and cheese mash on top served with green beans and peas. Yum.

Mominatrix · 11/05/2016 19:42

Tonight: Leek and broccoli quiche with a green salad, pear galette with ice cream (everything from scratch - was a stressful week and cooking is my therapy!)

Last night: roast beetroot and tart green salad with quinoa, goat curd, candied walnuts, and sourdough baguette

Monday night: Steak salad with baby spinach and watercress, red onion, new potatoes, and asparagus

Lots of salads in warm weather.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 11/05/2016 19:45

sooperdooper · 11/05/2016 19:48

Home made fish pie and green beans :)

StickTheDMWhereTheSunDontShine · 11/05/2016 20:00

Hairy Biker's Chicken Korma, tonight (not the dieter's one!). I overdid the salt, slightly, but it was still delicious with brown basmati and a pile of salad leaves, cherry tomatoes and cucumber.

Gatehouse77 · 11/05/2016 20:01

Spinach and pine nut lasagne. Very nice but DC would have preferred some meat!

LadyAntonella · 11/05/2016 20:02

Tonight it was Jollof rice with chicken.

ImNotThatGirl · 11/05/2016 20:02

Sea bass and rice with mushrooms and peas but that was a treat for us. The fish wasn't cheap.

EllieHandMeDownBaby · 11/05/2016 20:10

Tonight: black bean steak stir fry (onions, mushrooms, broccoli, spinach)

Last night: baked salmon fillet with asparagus & green beans

Monday night: butternut squash risotto with sausage

Tomorrow night: peppers stuffed with turkey mince

We meal plan and shop accordingly, so I could tell you what we're having for the next week, lol! Grin

whois · 11/05/2016 20:11

Lots of nice things that people have eaten!

I had very hot and spicy noodle soup with some aisan veg and tofu. The addition of the extra chill wasn't, in hindsight, necessary and my sinuses have had a good clear out!

Oysterbabe · 11/05/2016 20:12

I had my planned beef stew with swede and carrot mash and it was very nice. I think I'll be looking back for some fishy inspiration for tomorrow. Maybe fish pie and peas.

I mean NOT necessary

Elllicam · 11/05/2016 20:13

I had halloumi, red and yellow pepper and red onion skewers with corn on the cob, sweet potato chips and mixed beans. Surprisingly filling for so few calories.

LordTrash · 11/05/2016 20:13

I made the sausage, pea and pesto lasagne from BBC Good Food mag; was lush.

thereareworsethingsicoulddo · 11/05/2016 21:05

This thread is so yummy it warrants my first ever place mark to use for inspiration so thanks!
We had chicken stuffed with feta and basil (homemade by DH) with potato dauphinois (sainsbos) and veg. A Cadburys buttons yoghurt for dessert Wink
