To ask what you had for dinner?

I cook, DH cleans. Every morning I ask him what he'd like for dinner and he always says he doesn't mind. I enjoy cooking and am happy to spend time preparing something nice but I'm out of ideas and bored of cooking the same kinds of things so am looking for inspiration.
Tonight I made sweet and sour chicken and noodles. What did you have?

Chippy!

phlebasconsidered · 11/05/2016 21:06

I am such an unhealthy loser.
I had leftover spanakoppitta on arriving home from post SATs staff meeting, dd had spaghetti with olive oil, crumbs and cheese which I cooked while I was forcing her into her brownie uniform, and ds ate bland chicken and mash and peas which he has eaten every day this month from his freezer stockpile ( suspected asd, waiting on next referral. In the meantime, just eat the bland chicken.)

I would love to eat nicely but can only manage it at weekends when I'm not out the door at 6.30.

The one meal we will all eat together is a roast but I can't face one everyday!

phlebasconsidered · 11/05/2016 21:09

Although in my defence, dd and I did make the spanakoppitta yesterday. It is lovely!

Filo pastry, spinach, mint, feta, and I add mushrooms too.

chocolateshoes · 11/05/2016 21:16

Homemade vegetable curry and also tuna curry ( sounds odd but it's lush!) with rice & naan.
Tomorrow it'll be fish & vegetable tagine with couscous. Unless we decide to BBQ in which case it'll be veggie sausages, quesadillas, salad.

chocolateshoes · 11/05/2016 21:19

Ohh love spanakopita and haven't made it for ages! Thanks for the reminder Phleb!

sparechange · 11/05/2016 21:20

Jerk chicken with rice and pea (which is rice in coconut milk with kidney beans!)

It is one of our household favourites

MummyBex1985 · 11/05/2016 21:21

Aubergine parmigiana and rosemary focaccia.

Would strongly recommend Jamie's 30 minute meals though. The spicy sausage gnocchi is lush!

Catvsworld · 11/05/2016 21:21

Beef and ale stew tomorrow meet balls IKEA style with that sauce and mash

Muskateersmummy · 11/05/2016 21:22

Lasagne followed by a homemade flapjack

Solina · 11/05/2016 21:24

I had turkey steak with bolognese, tomato and cheese as a "pizza" topping, sweetcorn and peas and some sweet potato chips. It was very nice. The bolognese was left over from last night so thats why I used it!

Touchacat · 11/05/2016 21:27

Homemade sweet potato and cauliflower soup with some spices chucked in. I love randomly selecting spices and seeing what happens Grin

Krampus · 11/05/2016 21:28

Moroccan spiced chicken in wraps. Chilli sauce, hummus, cheese, roasted veg, salad so that everyone could do their own combo.

Tomorrow we're having Ramen soup with crispy tofu and egg.

The night before it was Ikea flatpacked meatballs, Ikea packet sauce and mash. Followed by Ikea flatpacked pancakes with crumbled up chocolate bar. That was a healthy day.

Doobydoo · 11/05/2016 21:28

CopyAndPasteCuntingJournos · 11/05/2016 21:37

We had slow cooked chuck steak chilli with wild rice. Was lovely actually.

I'm still deciding for tomorrow, something chicken related I guess though (if I remember to get the chicken thighs out of the freezer).

Liiinooo · 11/05/2016 22:12

Thai soup left over from Saturday night's takeaway. 2 sausages left over from Sunday night's barbecue. Still got one sausage, one burger and a bit more soup to go and then I can have something new!

Statelychangers · 11/05/2016 22:19

mrsmugoo · 11/05/2016 22:21

Cliffdiver · 11/05/2016 22:26

Roasted gammon joint, roasted veg and baked potato with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

DH had roasted gammon with baked potato and fried eggs.

ilovesooty · 11/05/2016 22:51

Lettuce cucumber radishes and tomatoes with baby potatoes.

SingingSamosa · 11/05/2016 23:07

We had an old favourite; chicken in pesto. It's made from chicken thighs (dusted in flour so the sauce thickens), onions, white wine, chopped toms (or passata), chopped mushrooms, chicken stock and a few healthy dollops of green pesto. Serve with pasta. It's really quick and the kids love it. I think it was originally a Safeway recipe from one of their cards they used to have dotted about the store, from about 20 years ago!

oldlaundbooth · 12/05/2016 02:10

Big salad.

Grilled chicken, avocado, shallot, tomato, red pepper, cucumber, feta, sliced almond, pumpkin seeds, all atop mixed leaves. Oh, and grated carrot too.

Dressing was maple, olive oil, mustard and white wine vinegar.

LadyDeadpool · 12/05/2016 17:16

Time to revitalize the thread

Crispy Palak Paneer for us today absolutely lovely. Hairy dieters recipe and even my fussy 13 year old eats it.

Pinkheart5915 · 12/05/2016 17:17

Tonight (8pm late dinner tonight) will be veg past bake and a salad

Oysterbabe · 12/05/2016 17:19

DH has just informed me he's playing cricket so needs to be something quick. Chicken, pesto pasta.
