To spend £1000

I want a luxury spa and Michelin star restaurant for me and my DP. Live in the Midlands, so open to a lot of areas.

Looked at The Priory in Bath and The Grovesnor in Chester so far. I want utter decadence, but not sure whether these places will offer that. Upto £1000 for two nights.

Am I asking too much for the cost?

I'm okay for Hoar Cross. Membership is less than my local spa. I'd just like genuine recommendations.

2 nights and a restaurant for £1k? You'll struggle, it's at least that just for one night in a suite at an iconic hotel. Will a room do? If so, you'll still be looking at over £700 for 2 nights but you might just do it. Q

I think the OP got lost on the interwebs on the way to tripadvisor.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 27/03/2016 23:30

Just sipping Wine do carry on.

PurpleDaisies · 27/03/2016 23:32

Are you suggesting my Skegness recommendation wasn't genuine?

SoThatHappened · 27/03/2016 23:32

Thisisnotausername

That actually made me LOL

Brummiegirl15 · 27/03/2016 23:33

Er the Midlands already has 3 Michelin star restaurants in Birmingham alone - never mind Ludlow in Shropshire as well.

Simpsons and Purnells have outstanding food - Glynn Purnell certainly tarts himself about on Saturday kitchen enough - but fair play to him, he's ah incredible chef

Unless Michelin stars in Birmingham are too lower class for you Confused

Jaimx86 · 27/03/2016 23:33

Kenadams, please tell me the Michelin star restaurants you're referring to?

Not clear to me. You asked. AIBU to spend £1000? Am I asking too much for the cost?

Do you want somewhere for cheaper or to be told to spend more and get a better place?

CreepingDogFart · 27/03/2016 23:34

This thread is incredible. OP are you a robot?

Jaimx86 · 27/03/2016 23:35

I'm not a fan of Birmingham...but if you could recommend a fab hotel
I'd check it out.

LadyTrevelyan · 27/03/2016 23:35

Oh, was funny at first but now you are just labouring it a bit much.

Jaimx86 · 27/03/2016 23:36

Duck90 I'd pay more if worth it.

Ohhh, a spar in the midlands near Burton-on-Trent. I'm so jealous.

glueandstick · 27/03/2016 23:36

Calcot manor is great. Their spa is lovely. Whatley manor is also very nice. Good reviews of Chewton Glen but haven't been yet. Barnsley house is nice. And the one in Watergate bay over looking 15 is nice. Not that I can remember the name.

Jaimx86 · 27/03/2016 23:37

Can I just have spa hotels with good restaurant tips please. No bitchiness needed.

OP posts:
FirstWeTakeManhattan · 27/03/2016 23:38

I could help you, OP, but due to your breathtaking unpleasantness and weird stealth boasting, I'll choose not to.

Wherever you go, however much you spend, you'll still be you, and your partner will be just as delightful. I'd save the money, personally.

CreepingDogFart · 27/03/2016 23:39

OP this is now sounding like the most boring birthday ever. Not because of the hotel but because you will be there.

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 27/03/2016 23:39

Gleneagles, Cameron house are my recommendations but are in Scotland if you are willing to travel.

AnotherTimeMaybe · 27/03/2016 23:39

Haha OP you're brilliant! You just don't give a fuck about what everyone says! It must be a wound up!

Well let me recommend you Dorchester by Hyde park!!

Brummiegirl15 · 27/03/2016 23:40

You'll easily spend £1k for the presidential suite at the Hyatt but my suggestion would be the Sarah Ireland suite at Hampton Manor hotel but no spa.

Or alternatively stay at the Manila Suite at the new Genting Hotel at Resorts World Birmingham You have your own lift access to that floor and they have a spa and a casino.

They'll take your £1k and then some faster than you can say visa or MasterCard

Happyat40 · 27/03/2016 23:40

Why don't you just look on tripadvisor?

AnotherTimeMaybe · 27/03/2016 23:41

wound up??? Meant wind up or maybe tiny bit troll??
