To spend £1000

I want a luxury spa and Michelin star restaurant for me and my DP. Live in the Midlands, so open to a lot of areas.

Looked at The Priory in Bath and The Grovesnor in Chester so far. I want utter decadence, but not sure whether these places will offer that. Upto £1000 for two nights.

Am I asking too much for the cost?

Hmm

dp is shocked at the bitchiness of super poor women

I'm shocked at that fucking awful attitude. you are looking for a bunfight methinks.

TvAddict2016 · 27/03/2016 22:18

Try rockliffe hall near darlington.

Fabulous spa and great hotel. Michelin rated too.

Have fun

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 27/03/2016 22:18

I was coming back with a couple more suggestions that I'd specifically requested from a friend for you but after "bitchiness of super poor women." you can fuck right off

Whatthefoxgoingon · 27/03/2016 22:19

What on earth do you mean by "super poor"?

Jaimx86 · 27/03/2016 22:19

Wow. They both look gorgeous! Have you tried either?

What about le manoir aux quat saisons? No spa but fabulous restaurant and rooms.

myusernamewastaken · 27/03/2016 22:19

I've never understood the mentality of paying hundreds for a bed to sleep in for one or two nights....once you've gone to sleep you may aswell be in a cheap b&b....I'd rather spend that kind of money on travelling and experiences.

RunswickBay · 27/03/2016 22:19

I was going to make a suggestion too.

This shows money can't buy class.

Queenbean · 27/03/2016 22:20

Goodness me. Everyone has different budgets. Spending £500 each on a luxurious weekend away is not wasteful or greedy or ostentatious. It doesn't matter if it's more than someone's rent. Everyone has different budgets and it's their own business what they spend their own money on.

Phrasing it "aibu to spend £1k" and adding your partners feelings on "poor women" is utterly twattish though.

If you'd asked for recommendations of luxury hotels and spas you'd have got them.

Four seasons Hampshire is my favourite, but the Grove and Chewton Glen are also lovely

AnotherTimeMaybe · 27/03/2016 22:20

DP is shocked at bitchiness of super poor women.

Said the woman making a hugely bitchy statement....Hmm

But whoever mentioned being poor? I am far from poor - but just because I have a spare grand doesn't mean id spend it on spas or start threads stealth boasting.

You and your partner sound really unpleasant. I hope you end up staying somewhere ever so slightly crap.

WellErrr · 27/03/2016 22:23

I always find that the super, super rich people that I know are humble and not actually braggy at all.

The braggy, boastful ones are the ones who are comfortable financially but have a chip on their shoulder about not being very wealthy.

100% true Lumpy.
Properly wealthy people are generally very nice and down to earth.
Nouveau riche types are usually snobby arseholes.

Nah! I bet she won't be using cash!

Voteforpedr0 · 27/03/2016 22:25

Op why not give the 1k to one of the many well deserving charities instead, then you will feel super, super rich inside

Runningbutnotscared · 27/03/2016 22:25

If you don't fancy Maui why don't you consider a cruise with some of your close female friends?

LittleRedSparke · 27/03/2016 22:25

" It doesn't matter if it's more than someone's rent"

No it doesnt, however, the attitude of the OP is offensive and rude....

wombattoo · 27/03/2016 22:26

Super poor? Shock

Whatthefoxgoingon · 27/03/2016 22:26

Super poor my arse. I'm not posting my suggestions because of your ridiculous comment. And I've been in many many expensive hotel rooms.

williaminajetfighter · 27/03/2016 22:26

Le Manoir aux quat saison... In Oxfordshire. V gorgeous.

SoThatHappened · 27/03/2016 22:27

Money really doesn't mean class as spectacularly demonstrated here.

Queenbean · 27/03/2016 22:27

No it doesnt, however, the attitude of the OP is offensive and rude....

I covered that off in my second paragraph Grin

VelvetDandelion · 27/03/2016 22:28

I also recommend Maui.

SoThatHappened · 27/03/2016 22:28

Why doesn't super rich OP already have lots of these places on speed dial.

She shouldnt need to ask us.

smells total bullshit
