CBeebies weirdness

Home with poorly DD, she is 8 but illness had her regressing into watching CBeebies. Is it just me who reckons Katy from I Can Cook secretly hates kids?

Also wtf is going on in Balamory? Who thought it would be a good idea to have a Scottish policeman trying to dance calypso?!

Hope she's better tomorrow, I can't take another day of it...

I really don't understand how some women fancy Justin - perhaps a sign that they need to get out more? His female Gigglebiz incarnations always make me think of Matt Lucas as Marjorie Dawes!

Oh, Salem, I cried laughing the first time I saw that.

I think Hey Duggee is training our children to have proper senses of humour.

Another Hey Duggee fan here! I also quite enjoy Sarah & Duck and The Clangers are ace! DD loves Bing so not only am I subjected to it on CBeebies, she has the DVDs too. I'm sure flop was sent to make all parents feel bad, Bing is a little bastard and he never loses his shit. Don't get me started on Pando...

livvy I agree, there's some pretty bad behaviour on peppa pig. Peppa is a brat, although she's not the evil queen bee that is Suzy Sheep.

I can't stand Rastamouse. I'm always flabbergasted that it is apparently fine to massively racially stereotype Jamaicans, ugh. And it's not funny.

Love Hey Duggee. That and Octonauts are a favourite in our house.

I read an interview with Justin a while back, he sounded very professional and seems to just love his job.
Have never been able to get over somebody pointing out a while back that Daddy Pig looks like a testicle. Can't unsee that now.

I was so happy when my kids got past the CBeebies stage. My youngest is nearly 14, so that was a decade ago.

And then they became teenagers and started watching shit like 'Modern Family' and 'The Middle'. And endless football games. Although it reached its nadir recently when the 15 year old announced he wanted to watch an episode of 'Friends' to see what it's like....

Now I feel nostalgic for Edie Bloody McCreedy.

Not much, though.

We love Duggee, Bing, Go Jetters. My lot also love the new Danger Mouse on CBBC.

We saw PC Plum from Balamory in panto two years ago. He was Buttons in Cinderella. Have to say he was absolutely brilliant. So so funny and confident on stage.

the girl in Space Pirates was grubby, smart and tough, and in Zingzillas all the female characters were squealy, soppy girlies - or motherly chickens.

We loves Katie Morag here too, for that reason!

I really really fancy Robert the robot. Blush

Hey dugee is a huge fave here.

Bing I hate but big crush on Marc Rylance so I can tolerate it.

Any love for Boj?! We LOVE Boj!!

I've always got good vibes from Katy. I think she's genuinely nice. Mr Tumble on the other hand... I don't think he likes children at all.

I saw Something Special for the first time this morning. I may have got a little tear in my eye at how much the kids clearly adored Justin - one of them just kept hugging him and grinning. Although then I did shout "you're fooling no-one, Mr. Tumble!" when he was apparently having a conversation with Justin.

I love Hey Duggie. I'll have to ask my other half what the rude joke was on there that made him laugh so much. We've had various conversations about whether Happy is adopted or if he's mixed race.

I can't look at the mum of Topsy and Tim without remembering her as the policewoman who got killed on Albert Square!

Ferne from My Pet and Me is too happy clappy but Rory seems really lovely.

DH and I like Nanny Plum's sarcasm on Ben and Holly, does she have a voiceover on Peppa PIg as well......

Love, love, love Hey Duggee, Dinopaws, Sarah & Duck, Dipdap and Charlie & Lola - all lovely animation with brilliant voice-work and a really skew-whiff sense of humour.

Cannot stand Nisha on Same Smile (if a child gives you a gift for your ruddy suitcase, SAY THANK YOU, FFS!), Rastamouse (although with sign language it's ruddy hilarious), Zingzillas/Squiglet/Tweenies/Teletubbies/ITNG/any bugger in a fake fur suit using stupid made up words when we're trying to teach our kids actual language, and perpetuating flouncy female stereotypes. Grrrrrr...

Katy irritates the shit out of me! She can't sing so not entirely sure why they want her to?!
Topsy and Tim anger my DH its on when he comes home from work😡
Mister maker irritates my mum, she gets angry that his waistcoat doesn't line up with the stitching and has the flappy bit on the bottom on his left side!
Absolutely love hey duggee, Boj, Clangers!
And my DTS (14 months) absolutely love ITNG they don't move a muscle while it's on! Very trippy programme!

Andy is great but now since people have said he looks like Fatima I will never look at him the same way LOL Grin

Another "Hey Duggee" fan here! Makes breakfast time so much more bearable.

Small on likes Bing, I am a bit meh tbh. Sadly he doesn't seem that interested in Octonauts which I think is brilliant.

We do have a lot of love for Timmy Time though. However Peter Rabbit needs to be in a pie with some creamy sauce and mashed potato, the carrot/radish thief Angry!!

Nanny Plum is lovely.

But why is CBeebies so cheap amateurish?

I love CBeebies and CBBC (please - sign the petition to save the BBC from privatisation). It has NO ADVERTS. Yah.
I actually love Lets Play as it is gender non-specific - Sid is a Nurse, the girl is a Firefighter or footballer. All is good with me.
I used to love Chris and Puy and we went to see them on several occasions.
We still call a row of houses near us Balamory Houses as they are brightly coloured.

What I don't understand is why bing is double the size of his own parent?! how the hell does that work? how big is his mother?!

Just wait till they discover Disney and Jessie / Liv and Maddie / KC Undercover THEN you will want to throttle the TV (and your American accent kid y'all).

Hated ITNG, Tweenies, Bing and anything with Justin bloody Fletcher.

DD was addicted to Woolly and Tig so that rates highly as well - though the kid is now at school (where the obviously don't want the Beeb filming at) so no fresh episodes of that to endure.

And don't get me started on Topsy and Fecking Dim

Ah I knew I recognised the accent.

Does anyone know just how many jobs Ms Ranbit has.......she works in the museum, the mountain, the hot air balloon, she even works on the bloody moon.
