CBeebies weirdness

Home with poorly DD, she is 8 but illness had her regressing into watching CBeebies. Is it just me who reckons Katy from I Can Cook secretly hates kids?

Also wtf is going on in Balamory? Who thought it would be a good idea to have a Scottish policeman trying to dance calypso?!

Hope she's better tomorrow, I can't take another day of it...

It's Glasgow folklore that Miss Hooley, back in the day, had to stop taking her DCs to the park because they got mobbed.

Bogeyface · 23/03/2016 00:26

A couple of years ago I was doing the night shift with DD (then 10) who had Norovirus. I thought she was asleep (was about 1am) and had Mock the Week on with subtitles so it didnt wake her.

"Scenes I'd like to see" was on and Archie was saying something very rude and DD started laughing and said "Thats ARCHIE!! He said the eff word!" She was right, we both laughed and bad mother told her to go to sleep, turned off the subtitles and put earphones in!

OhPuddleducks · 23/03/2016 00:34

Andy lives around the corner from us. He always seems vaguely embarrassed to be who he is and that's made me like him more on CBeebies.

MidniteScribbler · 23/03/2016 00:42

Topsy and Tim drives me insane. And everytime they want to do something, mum is all 'great idea darling, I have nothing else to do with my day but make giant cutouts.'

Do you get Lah Lah and her fucking adventures over there on CBeebies? "Wash your hands and wipe them on your pants." Do NOT fucking do what they DS!

PerspicaciaTick · 23/03/2016 00:51

Space Pirates was awesome.
I was also very happy the day The Darkness went full lyrca-clad guitar gods all over Zingzillas.

But my smalls are now bigs and all we watch is Mark and the other one on CBBC.

Bogeyface · 23/03/2016 01:20

I have just realised something after flicking through the Sky+ planner.

There are several Justins House recorded, because I heart Robbie the Robot!

He is fucking brilliant! :o

Birthgeek · 23/03/2016 01:31

YEAH!

I love sexy Mr Bloom Cbeebies and will be sad when DD's fully grown out of it

Bogeyface · 23/03/2016 02:05

I need to see a vid of Justin on Zingzillas!

Mumberjack · 23/03/2016 04:11

Darkness on zingzillas? Will need to look for it!!

I like Katy on CBeebies - she seems genuine. Although my DH and I like to discuss what the presenters would be like once cameras stopped rolling. We think Katy and Andy (who's been with all the ladies on it surely at one time or another!) have an awkwardness brought about by a drunken argument/poor sexual adventure...

Jujuheyhey · 23/03/2016 07:29

Feel bad about slagging Katy off now, she sounds nice Blush.

Never been able to look at Andy the same way ever since someone said he looked like Fatima Whitbread.

Me too Blush she's just too OTT for me.

Also Bing confuses me. When Bing and his friends grow up will they 'grow' into the Flop type characters? As they seem to be the adults? Confused

Elle80 · 23/03/2016 09:21

Haha you are so right re Katy! I say this to my husband (DDs are 4 & 2 so regular Cbeebies watchers) and he thinks IABU. I just think she has got such an attitude with the kids. I think I'm quite a good judge of character and I can't warm to her one bit.

I also think that Ben guy has got the personality of a plank of wood. Love Andy though, as does my DD1

Elle80 · 23/03/2016 09:28

Oh God now I feel bad saying the above about Katy - I'm sure she is lovely in real life.

Also the Dad on Topsy and Tim comes across as an utter twat

BadDoGooder · 23/03/2016 09:45

Oh god, the mum on Topsey and Tim is just excrutiating!
Who has time to do all that with their kids?!
Where's the episode where she's wrestling in the kitchen with a mountain of washing, and tells them to amuse themselves because she's bloody busy, and still has to start dinner/wash up/fix a shelf or is that just me? Grin

I like Andy and Mr Bloom though, both easy on the eye, though Andy's bloody Adventures are just too painful to watch (he's not the best actor in the world, bless him!)

Who's that poor woman who I suspect is about 30 but has to play a Grandmother? That drives me mad whenever I see it, I always want to shout "But you're younger than meee!!" at the telly! Grin

dontpokethebear · 23/03/2016 09:53

capricorn he does look like Fatima Whitbred! I'm not going to be able to un-see that now!

987flowers · 23/03/2016 09:54

Im sure the parents on Topsy and Tim are swingers!

I too am in love with Miles Jupp (not dressed as Archie though!)

We are moving over to cbbc so watching less of cbeebies. I wonder what Sid is doing these days.

We met Katy at Butlins last year and she was absolutely lovely! 2 yo DD was absolutely shattered but had held on in the queue to meet Katy. When it was finally our turn she got a bit overcome and ran at Katy! Katy picked her up and hugged her, DD started crying (overtired and over excited), but Katy was very calm about it. She cuddled DD (who was hanging on to her neck and probably getting snot all over her) and calmed her down.

My friend's husband is an actor and he once did a show with Justin. Apparently Justin is absolutely filthy in real life!

BadDoGooder · 23/03/2016 10:03

Bloody hell Feckoff, that's disturbing!
Still would though! Wink

MushroomMama · 23/03/2016 10:05

I just cannot work out topsy and Tim. Yesterday they called the diy bloke behind their dads back. The other day they smashed a vase and their mum was like oh ok my favourite case is broken never mind!

Tony Welch is absolutely detested by my six year old 😐

NotCitrus · 23/03/2016 10:07

My flatmate went to school with PC Plum, so absolutely pisses herself laughing every time he comes on screen.

I liked Andy's Animal Adventures but the dinosaur/prehistoric ones are tedious.

BadDoGooder · 23/03/2016 10:07

Zombie Shock is Justin really filthy in RL?!
I always assumed he was one of those irritatingly "kid-friendly" people all the time!

SalemSaberhagen · 23/03/2016 10:10

I love Hey Duggee. Love it.
