CBeebies weirdness

Home with poorly DD, she is 8 but illness had her regressing into watching CBeebies. Is it just me who reckons Katy from I Can Cook secretly hates kids?

Also wtf is going on in Balamory? Who thought it would be a good idea to have a Scottish policeman trying to dance calypso?!

Hope she's better tomorrow, I can't take another day of it...

Is Nina some relation of Lorraine Kelly? (Tell me you know where I'm coming from on this one - it's driving me to distraction)

Didn't one of Justin's exes come on MN once and say he had a thing for enormous boobs?

Went to see Mister Maker Live. It was a great show but Mister Maker just looked uncomfortable throughout.

My youngest is in to bloody Paw Patrol back to back at the minute.

When my teens were little the programmes of choice were Bear in the Big Blue House and Come Outside. I loved Come Outside.

I will happily sit through endless reams of shit from CBeebies knowing that none of it can touch the tooth grinding, gut churning awfulness of Team Umizoomi on Netflix. And it's the version with the American accents.

One of the reasons I have stuck with Mumsnet is that I am allowed to admit I find Justin Fletcher really quite annoying. The parents I know IRL all seem to think he is some sort of saintly figure.

My DP likens Balamory to The Wicker Man and is just waiting for the day they turn on PC Plum.

There is also a whole website devoted to Josie Jump disappearing and being replaced - apparently the r/l owner of the pink castle used to tell tourists he'd killed her. Confused

I think Nurse Morag from Get Well Soon barely hides her revulsion of children.

When they were doing the cbeebies olympic stuff in 2012 - Sid was gratuitously shown in his swimming trunks quite often. Now that was a great reason to watch!

My kids are into Milkshake in the morning nowadays - which is all kinds of wrong!

Love Hey Duggee Grin

But may i groan out loud at the introduction of My First.

I thought we'd got rid of the boring My Story - only for the snooze fest My First to appear. Who is it at the BBC who thinks the kids like this kind of stuff? IME they all wander off as son as the music even starts.

And relax.

Teacup travels is probably the worst thing on CBeebies at the moment. I thought nothing could trump Grandpa in my pocket but they've done it.

Mercifully DS is now too old for CBeebies, but I do have fond memories of Space Pirates. I was particularly narked when they replaced it with Zingzillas, because I had always liked the fact that the girl in Space Pirates was grubby, smart and tough, and in ZIngzillas all the female characters were squealy, soppy girlies - or motherly chickens.

There was one presenter who all MN used to fancy about 7 years ago and I think he either came on for a webchat and was appallingly embarrassed by everyone's blatant flirting, or said something on Twitter about sex-starved mummies and got his arse kicked.

Doodle DO! That was the programme, and the presenter was Chris someone.

So glad someone else mentioned the Fatima Whitbread/Andy thing, I read it on here and howled. I told DH as well and now whenever his show comes on DH says to DD, "Look it's Fatima's Dinosaur Adventures!" and she looks at him like this Hmm

Outs self.

DD works in Cbeebies land at AT. I've had many whats app selfies of her with Iggle Piggle and Zingzillas. She's nearly 19 Blush

Mine are too old for it now but I loved doodle do.

Me and DH used to make up our own stories about balamory. Miss hoolie was obviously shagging PC plum but kept it quiet so as not to upset Archie who clearly adored her...

Miles jupp is ace and I love how they take the piss out of him for balamory on mock the week.

I found out that Big cook little cook later got involved in porn. We've called them big cock little cock ever since.

I love the people who do Let's Play. I get the impression they really enjoy hamming it up for the camera and then go and have a few drinks.

Although they get to be a bit outrageous they never appear patronising. DD loves the show.

I could watch Sarah and Duck all day. I like it in its own right, but it also makes me giggle that the narrator is the Tory bloke from the Thick of It who talks about lobbing his cock out.
