Disability cuts

Name changed as obviously sensitive subject and don't want to put myself .i possibly don't know enough on this so am interested in other views . I may have only seen a small percentage - I'm insure ?
I have 2 sisters . One has had a stroke .which had devestated the family . She is quite well off yet has been upset she will loose a benifit that I believe is for her husband being her carer . Ok discussion to try to ease her fears it's very clear they don't need it . They can afford all care , holidays good standard of living on her payout . Number of property's all fully owned out right . Yet she thinks she should get it as some sort of compensation for the stroke .i can see why she would be angry with life but she doesn't need the money ? Surely it's right to be cut ?
My second sister works with adults with autism . She was saying they are struggling to spend the last part of their money entitlement before the next claim . I know they have holidays etc and their is still money over ( my sister accompanied many times )
So I'm wondering in some cases should the disability benifits be cut ?

Oh and I hope there will be the same uproar about these cuts as there was about CTC.

I doubt it though. People just don't seem to care as much when it comes to disability cuts.

SilverDragonfly1 · 12/03/2016 09:55

There won't be Bubbles Sad Those cuts affected hardworking families you see, not scrounging whingers like us.

HormonalHeap · 12/03/2016 09:58

I actually agree with your post but it's impossible to enforce. I have recently given up a disability benefit I was entitled to. Since I was awarded it, dh's business has taken off and he earned 2.5m this year. What if they're others in my position who hang onto it?

PageStillNotFound404 · 12/03/2016 09:59

Your "sisters"' experiences are so, so far removed from the reality of life on disability benefits for the vas majority that I'm surprised they haven't been contacted by C5 for their latest You Too Can Demonise Benefit Claimants, Let Us Show You How programme if it were possible to contact imaginary people .

Gather up your biscuits and be off with you, you goady fucker. You have no idea - and I hope for your sake it remains that way, because I wouldn't wish my DH's disabilities on anyone. (Well, apart from Iain Duncan Smith but he's so inhuman that I doubt he's susceptible to illnesses and conditions that real human beings can suffer from anyway.)

DawnMumsnet · 12/03/2016 10:02

Morning all,

The OP's been in touch to say she posted this before seeing the recent news. She regrets posting now and has asked if we can delete this thread.

We think it's best all round if we take it down.

ILeaveTheRoomForTwoMinutes · 12/03/2016 10:04

Oh so what she wanted has come true, and now can't stand by her concoctions?

ILeaveTheRoomForTwoMinutes · 12/03/2016 10:05

Convictions

Sparklingbrook · 12/03/2016 10:05

Mmmm.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/03/2016 10:06

Bollocks the op has had her arse handed to her and is being a coward
But hey get MNHQ to delete and then namechange
Coward

Samcro · 12/03/2016 10:06

yep like she really did

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/03/2016 10:07

Shame on you MNHQ for being so gullible

Mellowautumn · 12/03/2016 10:09

Shame on you if you delete it - people need to see the shitty thinking that goes on in people's heads about disability benefits

ilovesooty · 12/03/2016 10:11

She name changed before starting the thread because she's a coward.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/03/2016 10:11

Oh and where is the op?
Vanished to namechange?
If this was a genuine mistake an apology should be forthcoming?
Yeah right

PageStillNotFound404 · 12/03/2016 10:12

No, it's not "for the best". Let it stand. The OP namechanged anyway so it won't be associated with their usual moniker sadly .

People who are affected by these cuts should have the right to refute this sort of narrow minded rubbish, however goady or otherwise the intentions of the OP.

Alfieisnoisy · 12/03/2016 10:13

Plrase leave this page here MNHQ.

THIS is what the disabled are up against. People who dont understand what the money claimed supports.

By deleting it you pretend the views do not exist.

ilovesooty · 12/03/2016 10:13

Yes she's gone whinging to MNHQ and hasn't the decency or courage to apologise.

ilovesooty · 12/03/2016 10:14

And I agree that the thread should stand.

DawnMumsnet · 12/03/2016 10:19

Sorry, forgot to add the crucial emoji to the end of our post. It should have read:

The OP's been in touch to say she posted this before seeing the recent news. She regrets posting now and has asked if we can delete this thread. Hmm

We still think it's best if we take it down, though.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 12/03/2016 10:20

So the poster is lying and being a goady fucker but is free to namechange and carry on posting?

Samcro · 12/03/2016 10:20

perhaps its time mn hq had about GF and name changing

ilovesooty · 12/03/2016 10:22

I still don't see why it's best to take it down. It makes the pretence that these narrow minded thoughts and opinions aren't out there.

MrsVamos · 12/03/2016 10:22

I reported the OP for being a name changing goady fucker.

Bollocks she's just seen the news.

OP you are gutless and spineless, and as others have said, had your arse handed to you and you don't like it, regardless of what was actually yesterdays news of more cuts to disability benefits.

People like you make me sick.

DawnMumsnet · 12/03/2016 10:23

We are dealing with the OP behind the scenes. For what it's worth, she doesn't have form for starting goady threads and has apologised about this one.

PageStillNotFound404 · 12/03/2016 10:24

Why do you think it's best, Dawn? Why do you think it's better to pretend these views don't exist? Not being goady, genuinely interested in your thought process at MNHQ.
