AIBU - pants at night

So reading the bedding thread there seems to be the suggestion that some people don't wear pants at night. Shock This is seriously a pearl clutching moment for me.

So AIBU to ask - doesn't everybody wear pants at night, whether or not they sleep otherwise naked or wear PJ's? And wouldn't your sheets or PJ's need more frequent washing if you don't wear pants at night?

I sleep naked - no pants, pj's or anything else. Knickers is an awful word....pants, pants, pants!

Pebbles16 · 10/03/2016 18:55

Do people put on clean pants for bedtime? Curious.

lookoutitsapiano · 10/03/2016 18:56

God no, I love sleeping nude. As does husband.

Notthisnotthat · 10/03/2016 19:00

I'm wear pjs and no pants, was brought up with the belief that it needed airing.

What's wrong with the word pants? Everyone I know uses pants not knickers.

HidingUnderARock · 10/03/2016 19:00

no pants unless its period time

Heyheyheygoodbye · 10/03/2016 19:00

PJs, no knickers. It's just not comfy for me to wear them in bed. I do change my PJs every couple of days. So does DH. We have a ridiculous number of pairs each Grin

grimbletart · 10/03/2016 19:02

I would love to wear a nightie or PJs. But, I toss and turn so much that I end up with everything corkscrewed around and feeling as though I am being strangled. How do people not get the corkscrew effect? So it has to be the Marilyn Monroe option i.e. just Chanel No 5, or knickers. Even they manage to twist so they dig in my groin. Angry

capsium · 10/03/2016 19:03

Knicker, PJs and socks! Primary reason is because I get cold and if too cold go a bit numb. The clothes & 2 duvets and a blanket on top help.

...years ago I used to sleep with a lot less on, though.

Marzipants · 10/03/2016 19:04

I asked if people wore underwear with PJs after debating it with my husband. Final result: 50/50, and everyone thinks everyone else is disgusting / a prude.

capsium · 10/03/2016 19:04

Oh and I find the seams on PJs irritating if I don't wear knickers underneath.

fluffiphlox · 10/03/2016 19:04

Naughty naked nude here. I don't understand the need for drawers in bed.

VulcanWoman · 10/03/2016 19:05

My mum was always one to let the air circulate but not me, I like pants.

I've asked this question before over on the dark side, How do naked people scratch their arse in the middle of the night without getting smelly fingers.

BeautyQueenFromMars · 10/03/2016 19:06

PJs, no knickers except for when I'm on my period. Although I did wear knickers in bed till I got married - felt safer somehow. Strange but true.

DontCareHowIWantItNow · 10/03/2016 19:06

Pants wearing family here Grin

WaitrosePigeon · 10/03/2016 19:12

No knickers. Pj bottoms and a top

Ilovetorrentialrain · 10/03/2016 19:14

TheDutchess brilliant.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/03/2016 19:16

No of course I don't wear knickers in bed. How weird.

Out2pasture · 10/03/2016 19:17

i'm a nickerless, nighty woman who changes her bedding monthly.
hubby wears loose tops and bottoms.
I come from a long line of people who believe bits need to have plenty of air circulation at night.
Vulcan an itchy bottom means a quick trip to the bathroom for a proper wipe.

pointythings · 10/03/2016 19:17

When it comes to sleeping, my middle name is 'no knickers'. Unless I'm on my period. I don't like to wear anything at night. We're all different, though.

ShatnersBassoon · 10/03/2016 19:18

I've asked this question before over on the dark side, How do naked people scratch their arse in the middle of the night without getting smelly fingers.

By keeping their arse clean. Or if you're talking about the itch of internal haemorrhoids, you don't want to be scratching those, pants or not.

Ilovetorrentialrain · 10/03/2016 19:18

YABU to ask. But glad you did for TheDuchess's response. 😀

Junosmum · 10/03/2016 19:19

I don't wear pants, and only wear PJ bottoms under sufference- I get horrific thrush if I regularly wear them (clean or otherwise). Though I get horrific thrush at the drop of a hat, so anything that helps I'll do.

mygrandchildrenrock · 10/03/2016 19:21

Birdsgottafly there is a very minor op that women of a certain age can wear that mean we can still sleep in our birthday suits. can also do star jumps and exercise again, but haven't tried that yet!

bettyberry · 10/03/2016 19:24

I'm sat here on my sofa naked. I intend to get into bed naked and I may have just been painting the bathroom naked. I must be causing a health hazard in every room today Shock

Fatmotherfudge78 · 10/03/2016 19:26

Seriously, why do people find nudity so gross on here Confused

What do you leak from your orifices op? I am quite leaky at the moment but I am 40 weeks pregnant!
