...... would you turn up on their doorstep with a case of it?

DDs friends mum did this on xmas eve, as a thank you for giving her girl lifts to the sport they do. I'd had a little drink Grin, and sort of took the box from her, saying how very generous, what a lovely thing to do! really no need etc etc.

DH has been winding me up ever since saying she only intended to open it and give me a bottle, and prob had five more mates to visit Blush.
I keep thinking about it and going hot and cold!! How embarrassing, but who would do that? You'd come to the door with one brittle surely?

Yeah you'd only come to the door with one bottle, surely!

PUGaLUGS · 01/01/2016 16:46

If she was intending one bottle then she would have brought one bottle.

BorisIsBack · 01/01/2016 16:46

You would onky come with one bottle, yes!

Can you text her to be sure?

PiglettWithAttitude · 01/01/2016 16:46

Grin. Sorry, I think your DH is right!

NeedSomePeaceAndQuite · 01/01/2016 16:46

If she came to you in a car then I would say the case was ment to be for you, if it wasn't all for you she would of took a bottle out in the car

If she came walking then I wouldn't of thought the case was for you

stardusty5 · 01/01/2016 16:46

Unless she was visiting lots of people on foot, i think she meant to give you the box.

If she was in the car then i think she would have taken a single bottle out of the box

PiglettWithAttitude · 01/01/2016 16:47

^^ only joking

WitchWay · 01/01/2016 16:48

Surely if she had to carry the case & wanted you to have just one bottle she'd've put it down or asked you to pick one or something. I expect it is all for you Smile

Oh don't worry surely she intended the whole case for you. It would be very odd otherwise.

Cheesymonster · 01/01/2016 16:53

Usual Grin

BigSandyBalls2015 · 01/01/2016 16:54

It would be odd wouldn't it. She was driving, not walking.

I do feel I sort of wrestled it off her in the hall, and she looked a bit taken aback. Not my usual style when people bring gifts, but as I said it was xmas eve and I was a bit tiddly Blush.

Usual - I have been looking in the Aibu threads Grin

I don't know her very well! Kids are secondary school age.

Needtoprotect16 · 01/01/2016 16:56

Absolutely all for you. You've spent the time and fuel and have done it from the goodness of your heart. I would feel a bit cheap just giving you one bottle so I'm guessing she really appreciated you doing this and has given you 6(?). Enjoy!

Cheesymonster · 01/01/2016 17:00

Is anyone else tempted to name change and start a thread in AIBU (sorry OP) Wink

Leelu6 · 01/01/2016 17:08

MajesticWhine has spoken, no other opinions necessary Grin

Merguez · 01/01/2016 17:10

A case of wine is 12 bottles. Was it a whole case, or half a case?

Mixed or all the same?

I am sure it was all meant for you and was a lovely, thoughtful present.

littleleftie · 01/01/2016 17:11

Oh God, this is the sort of thing I do!!!

I really hope it was all for you OP. If she was driving I cannot imagine why she would lumber up to your house with a whole case of it - it would be heavy.

QOD · 01/01/2016 17:12

You have to.ask!!!

Janeymoo50 · 01/01/2016 17:13

Nah, it was all meant for you for sure. Enjoy.

Goingtobeawesome · 01/01/2016 17:13

I'd text her and say, DH tells me he thinks you meant to give me one bottle as you were sharing the rest with other friends. Is he right? If so, please come and get the others when it suits. I was a bit tipsy so wasn't thinking.

That way she can say they are all yours or have a laugh and tell you she'll be round later.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 01/01/2016 17:13

6 bottle, all the same.

Hellochicken · 01/01/2016 17:16

You'd come to the door with one bottle.
It would be weird for her to bring other people's presents to the door along with yours unless she wanted to ask for scissors to open the case on her rounds but didn't get a chance!
