I mean are they beyond the valley of acceptability upon a stylish foot? Ever?

Can you show is the particular ones you are talking about?

Aeroflotgirl · 20/07/2015 21:27

Yes yes yes.

123rd · 20/07/2015 21:28

I remember when this new shop called" hotter" was opening in our town...new hot shoes?? Yes please!! But then the shop opened and I was v disappointed Hmm

WyrdByrd · 20/07/2015 21:28

You need to be extremely choosy, but they do have some styles that aren't completely fogey-tastic and they are like walking on clouds tbh.

It's worth a bit of compromise on style if you have a job where you're on your feet a lot especially.

They are very expensive.
I would wear some of the less frumpy styles if I could afford them.

Unfortunately they do have an old lady image.

DragonMamma · 20/07/2015 21:31

My dnan adores these shoes and my auntie (known for absolutely hideous choice in footwear) has been seen sporting these, alongside her Sketchers.

And for fugly shoes, they aren't cheap either.

Resist the temptation OP, they are grim.

Aeroflotgirl · 20/07/2015 21:33

These ones are from tge stylish part of their website, dread to think what the others look like GrinGrinGrin

When your feet are so wide that nothing other than a pair of small barges will do the trick, Hotter are pretty much the only shoes which come close. I balk at the price tag but I have to wear something on my feet ... and I'm nowhere close to being pensioner age!

High street wide-fit shoes just don't fit - I can just about get my toes into the wide fit Footgloves.

SwedishEdith · 20/07/2015 21:34

There's not really a massive difference between these and these. If they make you cry and skip with joy then buy them OP.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/07/2015 21:34

They are so comfortable though and come up like new with a bit of shoe cream.

I wear a style called steam for work. Even when I'm driving I notice just how comfy they are.

reynoldsnumber · 20/07/2015 21:35

I have worn them for 3-4 years. I'm mid thirties professional. Some of their shoes are fantastic. And comfortable. Much more comfortable than any other similarly smart shoe I have found. Not all of them, or most of them even, are nice, but there are definitely enough to make me keep coming back.

BitOfFun · 20/07/2015 21:35

You do see them in sales though. I paid about £30 for the trainers, I think, maybe even £25.

Aeroflotgirl · 20/07/2015 21:36

They are grim, even if I was in my 80's I would nit have them. They are like the ones my elderly neighbours wore 30 years ago.

BitOfFun · 20/07/2015 21:38

See, I think these look quite sweet.

TongueBiter · 20/07/2015 21:40

I've had to start wearing shoes that will fit an orthotic insole and was told to look in Hotter by the podiatrist for 'sensible' black lace ups. They ARE comfortable though!

I'm wearing their white Leeward sandals now, not too fugly - I've seen worse in Clarks!

daftbesom · 20/07/2015 21:43

I love my Hotter shoes!!! My feet thank me every day I wear them.

Some are definitely more stylish than others. I got my last lot 3 pairs for the price of 2. They have a sale on just now so is prob a good time to buy.

Here are the styles I have:

heels
wedges
Mary Janes

Hope this helps.

BeaufortBelle · 20/07/2015 21:45

Well, I think they are pretty "hot" compared to ecco. You have to be choosy. If you are 50 something and have suffered things like plantar fasciitis, some styles are a good compromise. Personally I find Josef Siebel and Gabor better for arch support :)

Fizrim · 20/07/2015 21:46

I've got Hotter wedges - may not be on the website, I'll have a look.

Not on the website. They are the Hotter Grace sandals, not flat - high wedge. Have a look on eBay for an example!

museumum · 20/07/2015 21:48

I'd wear these www.hotter.com/gb/en/womens/womens-sandals/leeward-sandals

I'm trying to find a better picture.

dh said they are the most disgusting things he's ever seen, that he will leave if I wear them in front of him and have I lost my mind? He really cares about shoes.... But I have quite a serious foot problem and these shoes are seriously comfortable!

Someone in work has these in blue suede, mI'm very tempted by them. They looked really nice

FuglySandals · 20/07/2015 21:55

My username was inspired by my Hotter Leeward sandals. I love them, they're super comfy and I think they look great! Grin

I also have some red Tranquils, which are like Mary Janes. I am 43 and, apart from my shoes, quite youthful I think.

Iggi999 · 20/07/2015 21:55

Daftbesom, those heels are the ones I remember - lovely IMO. But as heels, are they very comfy for much on-your-feet-ness?
