I mean are they beyond the valley of acceptability upon a stylish foot? Ever?

Angry

My iPad is now full of Hotter ads. Not what I hoped to see this morning.

marriednotdead · 21/07/2015 09:14

That's the point of the moulded soles though orange, they make the difference between walking on cushions and walking on razors if you've got foot issues. I'd like a pair of fashionable shoes with soles made of marshmallow flumps.

OTheHugeManatee · 21/07/2015 09:19

I just googled their sandals.

MY EYES Shock

jenenberry · 21/07/2015 09:22

They have an orthopedic look about them. (the moulded soles)

Surely they can have the orthopedic comfort without the 'look'?

WellTidy · 21/07/2015 09:26

Spare a thought for those of us with foot issues when you condemn our shoes requirements please!

Cocolepew · 21/07/2015 09:35

Its ok for those yelling fugly, but if you have crippling pains in your feet sometimes you are past caring, and people sneering aren't doing anyone any favours.

I think it all depends on what you wear with them as well.
Earth Spirit are very comfy and Ive been eyeing up Heavenly Feet but haven't tried any of them on.

PurpleHairAndPearls · 21/07/2015 09:41

I am posting as a cautionary tale to the OHMYEYES people Smile

I have very very narrow small feet and adore shoes. Wouldn't be seen dead in a flat shoe, could run in heels and everything...

Then I became ill and condemned to a life of flat shoe wearing, the type of shoes I used to wear camping Grin I sold some of my shoes and boxed the others up for my DDs. I was persuaded into my wheelchair by DH pointing out I could wear my heels sitting down regrets selling my Loubs

I've come to terms with my feet fashion faux pas but if anyone can solve the solution of nice slippers for me...they have to have a grippy sole and be able to put on without bending, ideally nice and toasty warm, but also have to match a collection of vintage nightwear and not make DH recoil in horror, its an impossible task Grin

Am I deluded or are these really gorgeous?

marriednotdead · 21/07/2015 09:43

If they're out there jenenberry, they are proving rather elusive as threads like this show! I'd love to wear fashionable shoes again, and have spent the last 4 years searching along with many others here Sad

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2015 09:44

I think quite a Few of them look rather nice!

Some of them look a bit dull and frumpy but there are cute ones in there too with the kitten heels etc.

As far as prices go I have spent decades trying to find stockists of shoes that will fit properly and not cripple me - I'd rather pay more for fewer pairs than buy cheaper shoes that are rubbish.

How do Hotters stand up to wear and tear? Nobody has mentioned that?

If they last very well then it's probably a worthwhile investment for those of us with awkward feet?

Love these too

RB68 · 21/07/2015 09:46

I think some are fugly but like others with problem feet that will literally make me cry, I love the feel of them on my feet. This year they have upped their more stylish ones and maybe brought down the age appeal for that section by 20 yrs. They have some really cute heels with folded up sides and a stylised flower in the front - love them. I would ONLY buy Hotter but for the cost but have found ebay useful as well as outlet places, also at the moment you can find vouchers online for free postage and 20% off if you hunt.

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2015 09:47

I like both of the styles you linked stevie!!

Now do I have an outfit that pink style would go with...

Didiusfalco · 21/07/2015 09:47

This thread has made me buy a pair in the hotter sale! Im only mid 30s too. I do love a geeky shoe, and have been sold by all the talk of comfort and feeling like slippers - cant wait!

Cocolepew · 21/07/2015 09:48

My mum wears hotter and ecco a lot, usually the lace up trainer types and they have lasted for years

stevienickstophat · 21/07/2015 09:48

They are cute, aren't they?

Kinda vintage...they'll match my face Grin

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2015 09:49

So can anyone tell me about the quality?

Do they stand up well (no pun intended) to wear and tear?

stevienickstophat · 21/07/2015 09:49

Ooh, what did you get, didiusfalco?

RB68 · 21/07/2015 09:49

Actually its a bow not flowers

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2015 09:49

I have a vintage face too these days stevie Grin

Cocolepew · 21/07/2015 09:51

I have never abused my feet, I was always a DM, biker biots type of girl niw I wear trainers, but my feet are killing me Shock

Im off to the dr on thursday to see what is, going on.
During the winter I can wear Fly boots.
I use rubber heel pads from Sports Direct and if wearing Converse use Birkinstock 3/4 insoles in them.

Salmotrutta · 21/07/2015 09:52

I certainly don't mind paying more if they last well.

jenenberry · 21/07/2015 09:56

Marketing wise - they should divide their shops into two sections.
Or two different shops.

All the ugly, sensible ones could be in one shop.
All the cute, sensible ones (and they do have some nice shoes -kitten heels, bows, less orthopedic sole on show) would be in the other shop.

Because I know that at the moment, if I pass a Hotter shop I sort of want to go in and have a look (I have awkward feet), but I'm too embarrassed that someone might see me go in there! So I never go in.
Unless I'm with my elderly aunt - who likes to shop there, then I have an excuse.

They have a good brand, but they need to rid themselves of the 'granny' image.

But I suppose they are stuck between a rock and a hard place, because it's the 'grannies' that usually have the money to buy these expensive shoes in the first place.
They are the core customer.

There is definitely a market for good quality shoes (like Hotter) for younger customers.

PurpleHairAndPearls · 21/07/2015 09:56

ooooh I like those Donna heels.

Are Hotter shoes very wide?
