To hate that Mumsnetters Do This

Everytime someone says something popular opinion on mumsnet disagrees with they are accused of being stupid and uneducated.

You mainly see it on immigration, Europe and political parties.

These people who namecall never actually argue the point but accuse the poster of being uneducated.

Unless mumsnet changes any form of debate on here is going to be boring.

OP posts:
LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 17/05/2015 18:30

I'm very bad at spotting them then because if somebody with a name I've never seen posts, I assume they're new, they're posting a topic that may or may not have been posted for a while (and they can), their opinion might be 'off beam' but then again, so is mine quite often. When they don't post on the thread, I assume they've gone out...

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 17/05/2015 18:32

yy. ilovesooty. I namechanged once, for one thread, and changed straight back into this old thing. Never changed it again.

It would be very useful if MNHQ could 'reveal' who the OP is on really twatty threads... without warning.

hotdogsandmustard · 17/05/2015 18:34

Oh shit , I regularly name change , what does that make me ? Shock

MargoReadbetter · 17/05/2015 18:34

Of course you have to 'back up' opinions. Otherwise what's the point in starting a conversation? You might as well mutter under your breath if you don't expect replies.

I too can understand the frustration of 'oh no, not another dimwit'.

crustsaway · 17/05/2015 18:37

Ive been on and off mumsnet for a good few years and name changed too hotdogs so I'm a coward? err ok then. I tend to get booted off though for speaking my mind Grin

crustsaway · 17/05/2015 18:38

Who on earth do you think you are to call anyone a "dimwhit"?

This is what makes me so very cross. Do you think you are "above" others then?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 17/05/2015 18:39

Depends if you're goady or not? If you're not then name-changing doesn't even register.

Mintyy · 17/05/2015 18:43

Lying

What makes you think the op is new? Her op is apparently based on what she has seen repeatedly happening on Mumsnet. I suppose she could choose to embark on her posting history here with this thread but how likely is that ... honestly?

MargoReadbetter · 17/05/2015 18:44

Crust away - who exactly have I called a dimwit? You're getting too agitated.

crustsaway · 17/05/2015 18:44

I don't even get the "goady" thing to be honest. Nor do I get the "troll" who on earth is anyone to call it? Wouldn't your post be the same no matter what?

ilovesooty · 17/05/2015 18:45

I'm talking about people who name change specifically to post something that they think will be perceived as goady then revert to the name they usually use.

hotdogsandmustard · 17/05/2015 18:45

I think I recognise posters by their writing style and assumed others did the same

crustsaway · 17/05/2015 18:47

I too can understand the frustration of 'oh no, not another dimwit

I didn't say you called anyone in particular a dimwhit?

Mintyy · 17/05/2015 18:49

Crusty - are you the op?

crustsaway · 17/05/2015 18:49

I too can understand the frustration of 'oh no, not another dimwit

I didn't say you called anyone in particular a dimwhit?

ilovesooty · 17/05/2015 18:50

hotdogs I think that's true in some cases.

Some of the "name changers" are PBPs. If I spot them I don't comment. I just report them.

crustsaway · 17/05/2015 18:53

What are PBPs?

What do you have to "report"?

Why do you have to judge what is and what isnt?

All very judgemental.

fattymcfatfat · 17/05/2015 18:54

I was thinking that mintyy
crust you seem awfully annoyed on the OPs behalf if you're not

PinkSquash · 17/05/2015 18:55

To start a goady thread with a NC is goady. NC for privacy reasons is completely different.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 17/05/2015 18:55

Mintyy... I would think 'lurker' rather than a newly posting poster. I'm probably wrong, that just would have been my thought.

ilovesooty... how the hell do you spot them?

PinkSquash · 17/05/2015 18:56

Crusts, have you read the MN FAQs? It may answer those questions.

ilovesooty · 17/05/2015 18:56

Previously banned posters.

Why is it "judgemental" to report to MNHQ when they specifically ask people to do that rather than troll hunt?

fattymcfatfat · 17/05/2015 18:57

PBP = previously banned prick poster that's why it is reported if you suspect PBP, they aren't meant to bloody be here!

crustsaway · 17/05/2015 18:57

No im not the OP. She has a point though and I agree about this. I know certain names who have their judgypants stuck so far up their arses that they must be in terrible pain in their real life.

Bambambini · 17/05/2015 18:58

I want to name change, been this for way too long but I can't remember my password!
