Everytime someone says something popular opinion on mumsnet disagrees with they are accused of being stupid and uneducated.

You mainly see it on immigration, Europe and political parties.

These people who namecall never actually argue the point but accuse the poster of being uneducated.

Unless mumsnet changes any form of debate on here is going to be boring.

Yes pag, it is a chat forum! So why can't people talk about certain subjects without hysterical demands for stats, research, evidence. The recent political threads are like this, mention immigration in any way that's not 100% supportive and you are leapt upon for being a cretinous racist with subnormal intelligence. Mumsnet has a script, and if you stray from it you are attacked.

Tbh, I think some posters should just get off the threads if they aren't interested in the general thrust of the conversation and start their own ones. if the OP wanted to debate they had plenty of opportunity to do so before kittens came into it

at the end of the day, if the OP doesn't come back you can't have a go at people for chatting on a chat forum whether it's about the original point made or if it has moved on. doesn't matter either way, OP obviously isn't bothered.

But Twerking, I have never asked people to produce stats or evidence - not to my recollection anyway. And I posted about the level of insults/aggression on the board after the election. I did it at the time when I saw it happen.

I just think if you respond to those issues when you see them it is more productive than starting a thread just pointing a superior finger at huge numbers of posters.

I've been challenging that behaviour on the threads the op has mentioned at the time.

And if you want to discuss stuff you need to like, actually discuss it.
