Not necessarily an aibu but it's Sunday, ergo fun day...

Over the years I've had many NNs which either described the situation I was in or a favourite quote from a book or film.

What's yours? And who has the best NN? (Hopes FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse turns up). My current NN came from a very trivial discussion I had with my friend over what I was making her for dinner and she said "You're making potatoes! Just fucking potatoes!?" And I replied with "Well yes, please appreciate the humble potato."

fattymcfatfat · 17/05/2015 14:46

my lovely stepdad gave me mine when I got pregnant with DS1 and I've been known as it since (DS1 became little fatty)

IReallyAmHephzibah · 17/05/2015 14:47

My name really is Hephzibah. Grin

ghostyslovesheep · 17/05/2015 14:47

I do love Eatshitderek

mine is long winded and dull - something to do with Gordon Ramsey and sheeple - but then it was halloween ...

MyNameIsSuz · 17/05/2015 14:48

I'm just really unimaginative (and don't really care if i get recognised as I never say anything I shouldn't).

MyNameIsSuz · 17/05/2015 14:49

High five Hephzibah!

5446 · 17/05/2015 14:50

I really like Toots & the Maytals.

Guiltismymaster · 17/05/2015 14:51

As above really! If I could change that one thing about myself, I could get a lot more done. Something to look forward to in old age.

CrystalCove · 17/05/2015 14:53

I love the film Beaches and have visited Crystal Cove State Park in California where some of it was filmed.

ProudAS · 17/05/2015 14:54

I'm on the autistic spectrum and proud of it.

Feminine · 17/05/2015 14:55

ProfessorPickles · 17/05/2015 14:55

mrsdavidbowie · 17/05/2015 14:56

MrsEvadneCake · 17/05/2015 14:56

Mine is a Terry Pratchett Character. Her size is small but her hat and bag are extra large!!

mrsmeerkat · 17/05/2015 14:57

I am rubbish at picking nicknames and they are usually Mrs something like favourite toys I had growing up. I change my name quite often and meerkats are like little toys I think .. so cute. Though I love sloths too. Maybe next time.

WestEast · 17/05/2015 14:57

I joined MN just as my marriage broke down, I moved counties to a city I'd been to 3 or 4 times and I didn't know a single person, started my first nursing job and felt like my life was in complete turmoil. My name is the direction I moved, and represents the fresh start I made in order to be happy.

YoScience · 17/05/2015 14:58

I've been here since 2003 with hundreds of different name, current one is breaking bad inspired! Grin

NerrSnerr · 17/05/2015 14:58

It was snowing in some parts of the country when I made mine, but there was no snow where I live.

CaitSith · 17/05/2015 14:59

Mine's a character from Final Fantasy 7, my NNs are always video game character names. Don't know why!

LiviaDruscillaAugusta · 17/05/2015 15:00

I am named after the wife of the Emperor Augustus who was an amazing woman in her own right and, after watching I Claudius I was inspired!

BitOutOfPractice · 17/05/2015 15:00

I was newly singe and out on the dating scene for the first time in 20 years so I was a bit out of practice

ilovemargaretatwood8931 · 17/05/2015 15:02

I went blank trying to think of something funny or interesting, and was listening to a wonderful Margaret Atwood audiobook at the time, so just called myself something reflecting that. If I ever name change, I think I'll go for another author as my inspiration.

I love all the different nicknames on mumsnet.
