Not necessarily an aibu but it's Sunday, ergo fun day...

Over the years I've had many NNs which either described the situation I was in or a favourite quote from a book or film.

What's yours? And who has the best NN? (Hopes FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse turns up). My current NN came from a very trivial discussion I had with my friend over what I was making her for dinner and she said "You're making potatoes! Just fucking potatoes!?" And I replied with "Well yes, please appreciate the humble potato."

Charlotte Lucas married Mr Collins because he asked and she didn't expect anyone else to. I married for those reasons, too.

More positively, she's a nice character, rather overlooked just because she's not pretty, so I've kept the name even though I've now decided that left on the shelf is a pretty good place to live. Grin

highkickindandy · 17/05/2015 15:53

from a Prefab Sprout song

YesIDidMeanToBeSoRudeActually · 17/05/2015 15:55

I hate the MN mantra "did you mean to be so rude?" It's just so passive aggressive, if people have been rude just tell them so, in my book...

I also don't think "no" actually is a complete sentence

TakeMeUpTheNorthMountain · 17/05/2015 15:56

Mine is from Frozen !

JassyRadlett · 17/05/2015 15:56

Nancy Mitford book. Jassy was the one based on Decca Mitford.

Had not clocked when I changed to this that half of MN would spell it Jessy, which illogically gives me The Rage.

WorraLiberty · 17/05/2015 15:57

Shock Shock Shock Catherine Tate's Nan is a great fictional character I'll have you know!

Well...worra fuckin liberty!

The Great Canadian Card Game of Euchre.

Plus, hearts-as-in-love should always trump diamonds-as-in-riches.

First thing l learned as a lurker was to capitalise!!

Cooroo · 17/05/2015 16:11

Mine is a character from a book, The Hounds of the Morrigan by Pat O'Shea which I started reading to my DD not knowing anything about it and it turned out to be wonderful. Cooroo is a fox and somehow I started using the name in various social media. Only one MNer has recognised it so far.

Enjoying reading all these posts!

BakerStreetSaxRift · 17/05/2015 16:14

Welshmaenad · 17/05/2015 16:23

DH decided that the Maenad in TrueBlood reminded him of me. God knows why. Also, I'm Welsh.

ScorpioMermaid · 17/05/2015 16:25

I was having brain block and couldn't think of anything. I'm a Scorpio and I believe I was having a conversation at the time with one of my dds about our mutual love for mermaids Grin
