I have to leave for work at 6am. He will be looking after our dc (7,5,3) all day until 9pm. He has gone out after work as it is his last day there. I warned him I was working. He is terrible for not waking up after a drink. I am worried I will not be able to go to work if he is much later Confused

OP posts:
dustarr73 · 22/02/2015 18:27

When my dp done this i rang work and told them the truth. It meant that i could go out and not sit in and go stir crazy.

JeanSeberg · 22/02/2015 22:49

How did work take it dust?

RandomNPC · 23/02/2015 05:48

I must say, having read this thread from a males perspective some of the comments here are wildly reactionary.
Speak for yourself, pal. He's behaved like a right knob.

RandomNPC · 23/02/2015 05:53

And OP, I'm glad he's suitably contrite.

Writerwannabe83 · 23/02/2015 08:51

I love how the two male perspectives in here think there's nothing wrong in the guy's behaviour.

I wonder how they'd feel if the night before they had to go to work their DW went out on the piss all night knowing full well she was looking after the children the next day. And if that wasn't bad enough, how would they feel if they were supposed to leave for work at 7am, which their DW knew, but she still wasn't even home at that time and hadn't made any effort to contact home.

I'm sure if the guy had to phone in sick to work because of his DW's actions they wouldn't be quite so nonchalant about it.

It either stinks of double standards, or they have a job that has no responsibilities at all or they have a wife they can't particularly care about if they aren't worried when she goes out drinking, still isn't home by 7am and cannot be contacted.

RandomNPC · 23/02/2015 08:52

Eh? I'm male, look two posts above yours?

Mintyy · 23/02/2015 08:52

Or they are writing goady shite for the laffs Writer. Which is my personal opinion.

Mintyy · 23/02/2015 08:54

Why do HQ allow it to happen?

TwatFaceBitch · 23/02/2015 08:55

Writer err I think if random is the other man you are talking about, he's not agreeing with Martin, quite the opposite.

Arsenic · 23/02/2015 08:59

I can see you Random Wink

Writer & Minty you did just see Random challenge goadytwatface didn't you? Smile

lavenderhoney · 23/02/2015 09:05

He shouldn't have agreed to look after the dc when he knew he was going out and would drink, and paid for a babysitter all day or something. If he said he wouldn't drink and did, he made a choice there and knew op would have to deal with it.

I bet if you did that he'd go ballistic. But you wouldn't, would you?

He sounds awful. Doesn't care about the dc missing swimming, doesn't care about op worrying, doesn't care about her job and financial independence. Or how he's made her feel for ages now, and worry re his next night out.

Writerwannabe83 · 23/02/2015 09:21

Obviously I thought random was a female Grin Grin

TwatFaceBitch · 23/02/2015 09:24

goadytwatface Shock not me

Arsenic · 23/02/2015 09:24

Is it a bit confusing that Martin is getting away with it.

Arsenic · 23/02/2015 09:26

No twatface -sorry - I had you mentally filed as lovelytwatface Smile Flowers

RandomNPC · 23/02/2015 09:26

It's my shapely legs that do it, Writer

TwatFaceBitch · 23/02/2015 09:28

BlushGrin

BigPawsBrown · 23/02/2015 09:36

How do you read the postsfrom a male perspective, I wonder? Do enlighten me.

dustarr73 · 23/02/2015 09:41

Jean they were all right about it,i had nobody else at that late stage to have them.So i got them dressed and we went out for the day.He came home fell asleep and woke up to us not being there.

Que getting the frantic phonecall wondering here i am.I didnt answer.

Mintyy · 23/02/2015 09:44

Why have you singled me out Arsenic?

Arsenic · 23/02/2015 10:01

I didn't Minty. I was just pointing out the oversight to both you and Writer. Since you were the two posters discussing the fact that 'both male posters had... blah de blah'.

Was that a gaffe of some sort? Confused

Arsenic · 23/02/2015 10:07

I think they bend bend from the waist and peer round their tackle BigPaws Wink

RandomNPC · 23/02/2015 10:12

I think there's assumption on MN (not too unfairly, it's a mostly female site) that posters are female unless they call themselves Mrmanlymcman or begin all posts with 'as a man, I think that...'. Some men on here do.
I've been assumed to be female before, it's really not an issue for me as it doesn't really matter in the vast majority of cases. I'll say I'm a bloke if I think it matters to the thing being discussed, but it's rare. There's too much risk of getting
this sodding picture thrown at you.

pictish · 23/02/2015 10:13

But that picture is funny! Grin

RandomNPC · 23/02/2015 10:14

I tend to 'read posts from a male perspective' by nodding sagely while sucking on a pipe.
