WIBU to consider writing to every man in the world

To inform them all (probably leave Dh out of the round robin) that I do not want to have sex with them unless and until further formal notice from me?

As it seems that there is such confusion among so many people about the nature of consent I want to avoid putting any of them in the terribly awkward position of wondering whether simply being in the same room as them means they are invited to stick their dick in me.
So is that an unreasonable proposition?

Greysanderson · 08/01/2015 13:55

You do that

Zara8 · 08/01/2015 13:55
Biscuit
Empha14 · 08/01/2015 13:57

There isn't confusion in so many people. Just an arse hole minority.

MephistophelesApprentice · 08/01/2015 13:57

Somewhat unnecessary, unless you truly want to imply that every man in the world is a rapist.

And those who are actually rapists simply won't care.

TheCowThatLaughs · 08/01/2015 14:00

It would certainly remove any potential for "confusion"
Obviously not all men are like that, but no skin off the noses of all the decent men in the world if you did send such a letter, surely

Well they wouldn't be rapists if there was consent would they?

But no, im not suggesting all men are rapists.
It was a sardonic comment.

And I know its a minority who feel that way but sadly, from listening to many people's views I think it's too large a minority to not worry about.
Genuinely despairing at the stance of many people tbh.

TheCowThatLaughs · 08/01/2015 14:01

Rapists wouldn't care, but it would remove any potential for them saying "well I thought she was consenting" in court

myfallingstar · 08/01/2015 14:01

Yes I am sure my husband has not intrest to you and unless your some supermodel then I think your being a frigging big head

TheRealAmandaClarke · 08/01/2015 14:02

Well you have no idea who ia m voyage
Pssst. My actual name is not therealamandaclarke

OnlyLovers · 08/01/2015 14:03

Sadly, I think you'd need to write to all the women in the world too; from what I read on here sometimes, confusion about consent is not limited to one gender.

TheCowThatLaughs · 08/01/2015 14:03

Women rape women? Who knew?!

OfaFrenchMind · 08/01/2015 14:03

Poor men. Seriously, they are not all lust monsters, unable to see a woman without wanting to get a leg over. How do you even work with them? Do you greet them all as potential rapists?

ILovePud · 08/01/2015 14:04

I don't think OP is making any statement about men in general here, it's black humour. She's someone, I think, who has posted very eloquently about the CE issue on other threads and she is clearly just making a tongue in cheek joke here. It's like the ironic food bank thread that got pulled the other day.

youareallbonkers · 08/01/2015 14:04

If you are suggesting my partner and son (that's 2 different people lol) would think they could have sex with you if they happened to meet you then you are being extremely insulting to them, and most other men. And think an awful lot of yourself that you are so irresistible, are you sure the women can keep their hands off you? Maybe you should write to them too!

TheRealAmandaClarke · 08/01/2015 14:05

So by some of the replies it seems i only have to worry about being considered in a perpetual state of consent if they or their DP fancies me.
Hmm

Thanks pud

Penguinsaresmall · 08/01/2015 14:06

Yeah, sure, not remotely sexist op.

Leave my DH, sons, father, grandfathers, ex boyfriends, oh and all my male friends and colleagues out of it too while your at it Hmm

youareallbonkers · 08/01/2015 14:06

It can't be a joke, even black humour, because it doesn't have any elements of a joke. Not least that it isn't funny

TheCowThatLaughs · 08/01/2015 14:06

Yes don't worry if you're ugly, you won't get raped at all Hmm

TheRealAmandaClarke · 08/01/2015 14:07

That is true onlylovers most troubling.

OP posts:
TheRealAmandaClarke · 08/01/2015 14:08

Obviously nobody that anyOne considers a good bloke could ever be a rapist so naturally they need receive no such letter.

OP posts:
OnlyLovers · 08/01/2015 14:10

TheCow, that's facetious. The OP is not just referring to the act of rape. She says 'such confusion among so many people about the nature of consent' (my italics).
