Inspired by a number of freds where the OP states that her DH has a hobby that (invariably) takes up all their time.

I always wonder what that hobby could be. Is it just me?

If your DH has a hobby, please can you tell me what it is so I can go to sleep :o?

TIA

My husbands hobby is playing video games on the playstation.

Primafacie · 07/10/2014 23:11

Makes sense :)

I'm waiting for Hategardening and Cantstandmodelbuilders to pile up!

Or annoying me it seems

Oakmaiden · 07/10/2014 23:17

Playing games on the computer.

sigh

Gillian1980 · 07/10/2014 23:18

Darts and football.
Both require lots of practice and going to matches. Time consuming and expensive, but makes for a happy hubby.

Mrsgrumble · 07/10/2014 23:19

DIY fishing football running

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/10/2014 23:21

Astronomy, he spends his evenings in the back garden with a flask of coffee and a big telescope while I get the TV and sofa Grin.

Primafacie · 07/10/2014 23:21

Ooh this is really enlightening - thanks and keep them coming.

I think the train set would be cool!

He does training for a particular sport 1-2 nights a week.

Also a gamer, coder and all-round IT geek. He recently became obsessed with writing a programme to beat the 2048 game Hmm

He has other hobbies/interests but they don't take up time on a regular basis.

Boaby · 07/10/2014 23:23

Making guitars.

HolgerDanske · 07/10/2014 23:23

Cycling or any serious commitment to fitness or sport can take up huge amounts of time.

FickleByNurture · 07/10/2014 23:25

Hobby electronics, DIY, working on his car...

LittleBlueHermit · 07/10/2014 23:25

XBox (current obsession is Destiny)
Model trains
Model ships
Tinkering with our proper boat
He used to have an RC boat and and an RC helicopter

I could keep going. I think trying new hobbies is DH's hobby.

Sillysausage2 · 07/10/2014 23:25

Football training plus a match at the weekends and then there's all the extra time spent talking to his brothers about the training and matches he's just been at with them. You'd be surprised how much time it can take upAngry

Sillysausage2 · 07/10/2014 23:26

Sorry that should say football training 3 nights a week plus match at weekend

HicDraconis · 07/10/2014 23:26

Karate, for which he's out training 4-5 times a week.

However I can't complain, because I'm there with him :) as are the children!

Passthecake30 · 07/10/2014 23:27

Nothing. Unless tv counts?

Bulbasaur · 07/10/2014 23:27

DH's hobbies are whatever perks his interest that week/month. Sometimes he's all about the guitar, sometimes he's all about video games. Keeps me on my toes. The important thing is that we each have some free time to unwind and be with ourselves each day.

BoredPanda · 07/10/2014 23:27

DP's hobby is woodwork (plus chair making and caning). I am a fairly practical person, like a bit of DIY and so on, but I don't see the appeal, especially chairmaking.

minidisco · 07/10/2014 23:27

Collecting and dealing transformers!

xalyssx · 07/10/2014 23:29

Warhammer and DnD

RosesandRugby · 07/10/2014 23:30

Whittling Confused or in 'English' using a penknife to make shapes/toys/crap out of wood that he picks up off the ground on every bloody walk we go on Confused.

He cant leave it till later because the wood will dry out/bend too far/not bend enough/ varnish wont stick/is too sticky/needs a 2nd coat/3rd coat/blah blah blah Hmm

If he's not doing that he's walking up every blooming mountain in the UK to cross them all off his bucket list. Some he has to do all routes up to the top otherwise it doesn't count.

Why did I marry my nerdy Husband ? Its not like I actually get to see him inbetween his 'exciting' hobbies (He's at work on a late shift at the moment) Hmm

BikeRunSki · 07/10/2014 23:31

Cycling. Mountain biking, road cycling, time trials, cyclocross. Fettling with bikes.

Blowninonabreeze · 07/10/2014 23:34

Cycling and running.

When in marathon mode, running takes 5-6 hours per week.

DH very very self disciplined though and does both either very early in the morning or late at night so as not to affect family time.
