To report her?

There's a girl on my Facebook who is dating my friend.

Anyway, she works in a Travel Agents in our City.

She has posted a photo of an elderly gentleman in her shop looking at a brochure, can't wuite see what the brochure is but she is taking the piss, saying he is "reliving his youth". There are several piss take comments below it. If this was my dad or grandad i'd go fucking nuclear.

What do you think? Should I write an anonymous email or just keepy nosey face out of it?

The photo shows his entire face btw. Would you be annoyed if it was you or a relative?

Yanbu.

However I would comment saying its inappropriate

FatalCabbage · 03/06/2014 17:15

This is a photo she has taken surreptitiously then posted on FB? On her profile or elsewhere? How private are her settings?

I think it's unspeakably rude and tacky but I don't know that I'd report her if I didn't know her manager or the subject of the photo.

CiderLover · 03/06/2014 17:17

The travel house she works for is on her Facebook, she has taken a sneaky photo in work and uploaded it to her personal Facebook. I do not know what the security settings are like. She's a complete twat generally

Report to whom? Idiots and unkind idiots at that are entitled to reveal their idiocy to whoever they like.

I'd post a comment along the lines of "Thanks very much! That's my friend Sarah's grandad you're taking the piss out of here and she's seen it, and so will he quite soon. Cheers."

Yeah I may do that. I would have anonymously emailed her workplace

OP posts:
susiedaisy · 03/06/2014 17:20

Yanbu

she should not be taking pictures of the general public that walk into the shop she works in not unless she at least asks their permission first.

She shouldn't be posting the picture on the internet.

She shouldn't be writing comments about this person.

I would def report, she sounds like a her silly immature girl.

susejamieson · 03/06/2014 17:21

I'm not on Facebook so apologies for naivety here.

Can you comment on the photo and then 'tag' is that right? or 'link' the agency in as well so that the person who's responsible for the FB page sees it?

Then comment like 'That's a lovely way to treat customers. Does @TravelAgency know this is how you spend your time at work'

CoffeeTea103 · 03/06/2014 17:21

You sound like you're looking to get at this person. She's dating your friend, so isn't she a friend too? Why would you do that to a friend? Instead of getting her into trouble which she can lose her job, just speak to her about it?

Cornettoninja · 03/06/2014 17:21

I hate these photos of unsuspecting people that go round on the internet, it's a bloody horrible thing to do and reminds me of school bullies tbh.

Report it, I can see why you want to do it anonymously, and if that's the easiest way for you do go then please do, but I think I'd be distancing myself from my friend if they treated it like a big joke too.

She's at work and taking the piss publically out of her customers, that's so many layers of wrong I don't know where to start.

Yanbu.

susejamieson · 03/06/2014 17:22

I'd definitely report it. Save it as a screen bump and then email the manager anonymously. Bitch.

CiderLover · 03/06/2014 17:23

I have distanced myself away a lot from both of them really, they aren't close friends.

I just think it's really unecessary and innappropriate (sp).

OP posts:
puntasticusername · 03/06/2014 17:24

I'd report it - and take screenshots to send in with your report, just in case the material mysteriously goes missing off her fb or anything like that.

FatalCabbage · 03/06/2014 17:24

Against each FB post there's a little grey icon of a globe (public), two headshots (friends) or a cog (custom). If this post has a globe on it, it could go viral - so that's even worse than just sharing amongst friends.

It would be a disciplinary matter at most workplaces I think - bringing the company name into disrepute. So she does need telling that she's been a twat.

CoffeeTea103 · 03/06/2014 17:26

Seriously think about it, she could lose her job. Send her a message telling her it's inappropriate. Sounds like you have it in for her.

susejamieson · 03/06/2014 17:37

Please let us know what you decide OP x

ilovesooty · 03/06/2014 17:38

If she loses her job over it it's her own fault. I'd report it to be honest.

Nancyclancy · 03/06/2014 17:47

She should have thought about the consequences of her actions before she put the picture on facebook.

I'd make out he's someone you know!

Nancyclancy · 03/06/2014 17:48

She's old enough to know better and should have thought of the consequences of her actions before posting the picture online!
Report her!!

Nancyclancy · 03/06/2014 17:49

Sorry thought I'd deleted my first message accidentally!

CloverHeart · 03/06/2014 17:52

Screenshot it and send it to her manager.

That is, after all, somebody's father, grandfather etc and if it was one of my relatives i would find out which staff member it was and pay them a visit in work, with a printout of her post, lull her into thinking I'm booking a holiday then halfway through let all hell break loose on her - then again I am FULL of the hormonal pregnancy rage right now.

If you aren't going to report her then at least tell her to grow up and have a bit of respect.

Waltermittythesequel · 03/06/2014 17:53

I'm sure that social network posts that bring your place of work into disrepute can be deemed sackable offences.

I'm not 100% sure though.

OP if you don't care about falling out with her I'd pm and say that I thought it was disgusting and she should be careful because someone could report it.

What a nasty, juvenile person!

nutellacake · 03/06/2014 17:55

If you do report, take a screenshot of the whole page.

If you send a link, it/the photo could get deleted and this person would then look completely 'innocent'.

Screenshot is easy to do and you save it as a file which you can email.

Yanbu. Report! Pp above is right - she should have thought of the consequences.

ICanSeeTheSun · 03/06/2014 17:57

Yanbu.

I work on hospital wards, if I ever did that I would be sacked straight away.

Perhaps he wasn't even trying to relive his youth but picking up booklets for grand daughter.

MissFruits · 03/06/2014 17:58

If anyone did this in the company I worked for they would lose their job
