Does this happen to other people? It's beginning to annoy me.

Why? Are you ashamed that you could be seen as a feminist? Is it something that bad?

Mrsjayy · 28/05/2014 21:20

Why are you saying yoy are not a feminist do you not think females have rights

PosyFossilsShoes · 28/05/2014 21:20

It's perhaps more polite than assuming you're a masochist, which is the alternative.

WillieWaggledagger · 28/05/2014 21:20

can you give an example of this?

MyrtleDove · 28/05/2014 21:21

I would assume that everyone is a feminist for the same reason I assume people are not racist or homophobic unless they give me a reason to think otherwise.

HookingBrilliant · 28/05/2014 21:23

Dear Hooking

Please can you come to our feminist event?

Please can you help us get people to attend our feminist event?

Please can you invite all your friends to our feminist event?

In fact, would you like to speak at our feminist event?

wow. there's a problem and a half and no mistake

AnyFucker · 28/05/2014 21:24

I think you are imagining things

MrsKoala · 28/05/2014 21:24

You don't believe in equality for women? Confused

I don't think i know anyone who isn't a feminist. The same as i assume no one i know is a racist. It's a default norm for me.

Would you prefer people to think that you accept your opinion / needs / talents as less worthy purely by dint of being born female?

fancyanotherfez · 28/05/2014 21:25

I have to say, im a female and this has never, ever happened to me. Are they asking you for other reasons?

ThatBloodyWoman · 28/05/2014 21:25

Are you not a feminist then?

gordyslovesheep · 28/05/2014 21:26

poor you - what an awful thing for people to think Flowers

how could anyone assume a women would want to be treated equally to men - go and lie down in a dark room to recover

WillieWaggledagger · 28/05/2014 21:26

i'm clearly guilty of this, i mean i go around all day assuming that the women i come into contact with want equal pay, the right to vote, autonomy over their own body, equal rights in all things basically etc etc. i don't specifically ask them, though

MyrtleDove · 28/05/2014 21:27

What are these feminist events you keep getting invited to?

WillieWaggledagger · 28/05/2014 21:27

what are they asking you to speak about?

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 28/05/2014 21:27

Nobody has ever asked me to speak at their feminist event. How odd that people would ask a non feminist out of the blue to do so!

thatstoast · 28/05/2014 21:28

I can't believe people would bother you about feminism. Don't they know how busy you are doing the housework and thinking about how fluffy kittens are?!

Is it your hair? Have you got a short back and sides? What sort of shoes do you wear? Are they flat and sensible? I know the youngsters are wearing dungarees again but perhaps yours are an unfashionable cut?

Mrsjayy · 28/05/2014 21:28

Oh god group thinking you might have something interesting to say shocker

Sneezecakesmum · 28/05/2014 21:28

How irritating. Surely you have the right to be an individual rather than someone with a label attached.
