to wish that people would stop assuming I'm a feminist just because I'm female?

Does this happen to other people? It's beginning to annoy me.

Thanks Smile - duly bookmarked

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 28/05/2014 23:48

Willie, if you could knit me some vagina shaped handbags with full on pubic hair to sell during the intermission of my Punch and Judy show? There's a dear.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/05/2014 23:50

fraidy, I'm aware I'm meant to be asleep, but you do realize that poem is about apocalyptic doom, right? It's not like it's a good thing that the 'best' lack all conviction at the time. It's part of the 'blood-dimmed tide'.

And I blame TSC.

PacificDogwood · 28/05/2014 23:50

Don't you mean knitted vulva, Sagadear?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/05/2014 23:50

(And I know that was obnoxious, but obnoxious in a different, pedantic way.)

WillieWaggledagger · 28/05/2014 23:50

i met some women from the guild of spinners, weavers and dyers the other day. they were talking about using fibres alternative to sheep wool (alpaca, yak, rabbit, cat, dog)

realistic pubic hair you say? hmm...

PacificDogwood · 28/05/2014 23:52

I thought we were all going to bed, hm??

I don't go through life with 'feminist' stamped on my forehead. It is not something I go on about, but something I just am.

What poem is that quote from? Sounds dramatic. EFL here Wink

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/05/2014 23:54

'The Second Coming'.

I love it.

It's imagining that the world is ending, but what happens at the end is horrible, not salvation. It's, er, fairly bleak.

Sorry, pet hate is people quoting things out of context to make a (bad) point.

MorrisZapp · 28/05/2014 23:55

OP is troubled bra tycoon Michelle Mone.

How that lady got so rich is a mystery to me, I've never seen one of her bras for sale anywhere. Her entire business model appears to consist of sacking Rod Stewart's wives from spurious modelling jobs.

You stick to your guns Michelle, let the feminists hire Edwina Currie.

PacificDogwood · 28/05/2014 23:56

Ah. Thanks.
Then there's vaginal knitting - isn't it nice when high art and low art meet like this?
Gawd, t'internet is a weird place…

I am really off to be now. Toodleloo x.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 28/05/2014 23:56

Wow! I thought I was coming up with a brand new idea.

[letdown]

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/05/2014 23:57

Wow.

Yep, the internet is truly strange.

PacificDogwood · 28/05/2014 23:59

to bed

Although 'to be' works too

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 28/05/2014 23:59

Ok so all agreed Willie will lead the workshop on vaginal knitting. Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 29/05/2014 00:01

blimey

better work on my pelvic floor then

HoneyDragon · 29/05/2014 00:14

So trolls are ducks

Feminists are trees

And Pags on holiday

So the real point of the op is

Do we get Caprinigahahshaha's again?

HoneyDragon · 29/05/2014 00:15

Can someone remove that errant g from my post before the President of America peruses it?

sashh · 29/05/2014 08:53

Hooking

There is a test, it is in two parts

  1. put your hand in your pants and feel what's there
  2. Who do you think should control what goes in and comes out?

If you think the answer to '2' is 'me' then you are a feminist.

If you think a man should choose who you have sex with, how many babies you have and whether you are allowed a hysterectomy recommended by a Dr then you are not a feminist.

And if you don't like women only spaces what the hell are you doing on here?

Before the First World War there was a large organisation called IIRC WASU, the Women's Anti Suffrage Union. Women who did not want women to have the vote for Parliament!

OP would have been a branch chairman or do I mean chairperson, I am getting confused . . .

BitOutOfPractice · 29/05/2014 10:37

Coldlightofday you did it twice? Shock Dirty dirty girl!!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 29/05/2014 10:44

Coldlightofday, how dare you. I sentence you to 20 hours of vaginal knitting!!
