To be upset that there are 3 Ukip posters up in houses down my road :(

It is a pretty working class street, some council, some privately owned houses. Not sure if that is relevant but WHY the fuck would you advertise the fact that you are a fuckwit? All of the people with the notices up are older people - older than me, which is 43 (im not older!!!! - ok, maybe a bit).

Its pretty worrying really that what i would normally see as very respectable folk have been sucked in by this bullshit?

This is a conservative ward, and although dissilussioned with the previous gov i have always voted labour - i am going to have to vote bloody tory in a half beat effort to keep Ukip out of the area :(

My DD lives in a town with a ukip counsellor - its fucking dire and getting worse :(

Of course your vote makes a difference what if we all thought like that. I think UKIP are awful but surely people have a right to think what they like that's what a democracy is.

Who you vote for rarely has an impact on how respectable you are.
Personally I think anyone who would vote labour at the moment is incredibly stupid but I wouldnt k7ck them off the neighbourhood watch scheme for it.
Are you confusing ukip with bnp?

People generally don't like change. Older people will have seen a lot of change happen to this country in the last few decades. I guess that's why they've chosen to support UKIP.

As for the posters, it's up to them isn't it? I'll be honest, we've had no posters through the door except UKIP. The other parties are not helping their supporters to be similarly visible.

All the older generation I know including my parents are voting ukip. . My generation are voting the same as always.

The government isn't listening and people are getting peed off, they want them to listen and stop pissing all over everybody.

Personally I would just be happy to see more people to go vote full stop. We only get a 100 or so at our polling station :(

The wonderful thing about this country is that we have democracy. You have your opinion, they have theres... An opinion is an opinion & it's neither right nor wrong!!

My opinion is that each party is out to try & look 'better' than the other & that if they actually worked together the country wouldn't be going to s**t!!

I hate to see political posters up in the windows of houses regardless of the party. A UKIP one would not upset me any more than one from another party. It all looks tacky and I doubt anyone has ever changed their mind on the back of seeing a poster in their neighbour's window.

It's not something I agree with, but it's a valid and reasonable opinion to hold.

I don't get all the fuss against UKIP. It comes across as people just wanting to bang on about how liberal they are because for some reason they think it makes them look good.

Except it doesn't. Everyone is entitled to their view, and I am very glad we have a new political party that actually has a voice. The more diversity we have in politics the better.

I agree, OP, there's a UKIP poster on our next-door-but-one house. The occupant is an older (70s?) man, definitely not 100% NT, but why on earth would he want to advertise the fact that he is 100% steaming fuckwit? It's particularly depressing as the house in between us and this house is home to a very nice family from Saudi Arabia, and I do wonder what they must think.

I think the relevance of the people being older generation working class is due to them being very good at playing up to peoples fears. I could be wrong.

We have had all parties crap through our doors except labour, i think they are resigned to the fact that they have little or no chance around here.

Regardless on one's thoughts about Britain being part of europe - i have no idea if this a good thing or not economically, i think it is madness to vote for a party that doesn't want us in europe and therefore is going to make a pretty half hearted effort at representing us properly in that environment - maybe im being niave but that seems like a no brainer to me. Why do they even want to run? i don't udnerstand it.

If my opinion was, 'those Nazis, seem like a decent bunch of chaps', that would neither right nor wrong, would it? Or, 'that Jimmy Savile, what a fine upstanding pillar of the community', no argument there then?

LEM, I quite agree. My area is traditionally true Blue but has a generous sprinkling of purple and yellow now. They're all fucking idiots.

What's so bad with voting for a party who's basic objective is to remove us from the EU because they think we'd be better off? I have two problems with this - as i said in my previous post i really have no clue if we are better off in or out of europe. The problem i have with Ukip is that under the surface i really do see it as bnp lite, they don't have a chance so many of the racist bigots will be voting and be members of Ukip as a softer option. That is dangerous. The second problem is - the upcoming elections are for MEPs are they not? Again, as i said above, surely we need positive representation in europe seeing as we are part of it for the forseeable future?

My mum always goes on about "it was the worse thing we ever did going into that thing" meaning europe "we were all ok before that happened" i think if she was to vote she would vote ukip. It doesn't make her a bad person, but it makes her niave i think.

As for calling UKIP voters fuckwits, why so flipping vicious? I see this on Twitter all the time as well. We're all people and we all have the right to vote for who we want. Why some people are so openly hostile about it I can't understand.

I get that she is naive & a little confused between BNP & UKIP; but we had a chat about it and I explained that they wouldn't actually deport anyone who lived here legally

& then she said "I'm sure the Germans believed that in the 1930s"
