It is a pretty working class street, some council, some privately owned houses. Not sure if that is relevant but WHY the fuck would you advertise the fact that you are a fuckwit? All of the people with the notices up are older people - older than me, which is 43 (im not older!!!! - ok, maybe a bit).

Its pretty worrying really that what i would normally see as very respectable folk have been sucked in by this bullshit?

This is a conservative ward, and although dissilussioned with the previous gov i have always voted labour - i am going to have to vote bloody tory in a half beat effort to keep Ukip out of the area :(

My DD lives in a town with a ukip counsellor - its fucking dire and getting worse :(

Mine is nearly all Green posters/posts, about 7 of them . Could have something to do with the Green candidate living in our road though

Viviennemary · 10/05/2014 18:33

People are sick to death of the three other parties. On question time the Tory person would absolutely not give a straight answer to a question. And Nigel Farage said voters have had years of this and they are simply sick of it. How true. I hope they do well if only to give the other parties a total awakening of how sick people are of them.

ExcuseTypos · 10/05/2014 18:33

Rebecca - no my dd is not pathetic for crying over a UKIP flag in her front garden. She was angry and frustrated that she couldn't do anything about people thinking she supported a bunch of rasict, sexist, homophobes.

somewheresomehow · 10/05/2014 18:34

well said the media is like the bbc you get their particular spin on stuff and once its in the papers/on tv it has to be true yeah Wink

ExcuseTypos · 10/05/2014 18:35

bette06 thanks I will send dd that linkSmile

MrsAtticus · 10/05/2014 18:35

We had a leaflet from BNP through the door, it was dire, but at least they are openly racist, unlike UKIP who pretend not to be. I'd love their candidates to come round door to door so I could invite them into our nice Muslim home Grin...I would as well.

Scarletohello · 10/05/2014 18:36

This is an example of the vile man standing as a candidate in Newark...

samsam123 · 10/05/2014 18:37

you're the fuckwit its called living in a democracy people can vote for who they like stop being such a dictator

Scarletohello · 10/05/2014 18:38

And disliking the other 3 parties is not a good enough reason for voting for a party that are verging on fascism. Has no one learnt the lessons of history? How do people think Hitler got into power..?

Icimoi · 10/05/2014 18:38

I rather my daughter believed in freedom of speech then become an judgemental rabid leftie who believes no one should have an different opinion to them.

Oh, the irony.

StarGazeyPond · 10/05/2014 18:39

Hitler didn't get into power by protest votes against other parties. Read your history.

Scarletohello · 10/05/2014 18:39

It starts off blaming minority groups for the problems facing society. It ends up in a gas chamber..,

TalkinPeace · 10/05/2014 18:39

Just remember

What ever your views on the parties, go to your polling station on May 22nd and make your mark
either by voting for the party of your choice or by spoiling your ballot
but do not stay at home apathetically

as by doing so you lose the right to complain about ANY government.

If everybody who would not normally vote did so, EVEN BY SPOILING THEIR BALLOT the outcome could be quite interesting

People DIE to get the vote.
Here in the UK people take it much too much for granted.

JGK0 · 10/05/2014 18:40

We have this thing callede democracy. People get to vote for who they want as do you. If enough people who think like you do get off their collective **ses and go vote you get the elected officials you want.

However, given that roughly only 20 -30% of voters turn out to vote in local elections, I normally ask anyone who gripes about the council how they voted?

If they say they didn't , my response is generally "well don't bother complaing about something you had a say in but couldn't be bothered about"

To be honest I'm becoming more and more of a fan of a "use it or lose it" system for those who dont vote.

Viviennemary · 10/05/2014 18:40

A friend tried this fascist scaremongering nonsense on me a while back when I mentioned UKIP. It didn't work. Lots of countries have quite strict immigration policies. Try getting into NZ or Australia. It's difficult.

Scarletohello · 10/05/2014 18:41

So all of you who want UKIP to get into power, please tell me what policies do they have that you think will benefit you..?

ouryve · 10/05/2014 18:42

I've only seen one poster in our village, but rather than thinking each to their own, I'm quite Hmm and a little :( because they have a disabled child.

longfingernails · 10/05/2014 18:42

Scarletohello On the contrary. Labour was deeply mistaken to allow massive unskilled immigration into Britain.

I will vote UKIP on May 6 to send a message to Cameron, and to the EU elites. He can't go on kicking working-class Tories forever, and the EU can't ride roughshod over the wishes of sovereign states forever.

bochead · 10/05/2014 18:43

The three main parties have merged into one pseudo democratic choice whereas in reality Britain is fast becoming a one party facist state at the mercy of the global coorporate entities who really run everything from schools to our water supply.

Our current crop of main party leaders can be divided on ideology with a razor blade, or the thickness of their party colours which right now are just house colours aka their public school, that combine under the same umbrella to screw most of us over. They have all in their various ways failed to disguise their contempt for the taxpayer and voter.

Some people have woken up to that fact and are now actively supporting the alternatives where and when they can - meagre though the remaining choices are.

I prefer the honest, open racism of UKIP than the insidiousness back-stabbing spiteful techniques of the major parties, it's far easier to fight an honest foe, than smoke and mirrors. The price of an honest democracy is that there will be people out there fighting to win votes with viewpoints you find yourself violently opposed to. It is hard as I am not white & my child is the offspring of an E. European so you could say I have more skin in this particular game than some posters on this thread.

I consider it a price worth paying if the UK is to be steered off it's current course of determined self-destruction. Something needs to avert the looming disaster facing our children, and a restoration of genuine democracy would be a good starting point. As things stand I thing screaming Lord Sutch would do a better job as pm than any of the 3 main party leaders.

LEMmingaround · 10/05/2014 18:44

I haven't said they can't vote for who they choose but it is equally my right to think they are either
A. A fuckwit.
B. Niave and misled
C. A cunt

OP posts:
somewheresomehow · 10/05/2014 18:46

UKIP believes that :
•
Council tax should be as low as possible
•
Immigration must be controlled to relieve pressure on our health,
education, housing and welfare services
•
Green spaces should be protected - we oppose excessive
housing development, wind farms and HS2
•
We need more police on the streets, cracking down on crime and
anti-social behaviour
•
Councils should cut highly paid council executives, not front-line
staff and services
•
Real decision-making should be given to local communities
•
Money should be used for local services, not the EU, foreign aid
and foreign wars

StarGazeyPond · 10/05/2014 18:47

but it is equally my right to think

Think what you like. But when you start using language like 'a fuckwit, naive and misled, a cunt' you immediately lose your integrity.

Scarletohello · 10/05/2014 18:47

Bochead, so you admit to be an'open honest racist'? Well good for you, I hope you are proud of yourself!

So please tell me,

How exactly are immigrants responsible for the situation the UK is in now?

And how exactly will UKIP fix that? They've got no policies..!

somewheresomehow · 10/05/2014 18:51

we have too many immigrants coming here and doing nothing but expecting housing and benefits, we haven't got the money or the room to support our own people never mind everyone else who wants to come here

saoirse31 · 10/05/2014 18:51

Op yabu. If u can only resort to language like ' cunt' to attack views different to your own then you should really try and develop some meaningful arguments.
