I think he is great. He is my favorite celebrity/public figure and I wish he was king of england.

OP posts:
caruthers · 02/03/2014 17:23

I've worked for his family and I quite like them.

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:23

I am no Royalist, but I do think Charles has made huge efforts to understand and tackle some of the problems facing the country. He seems well-intentioned, hard-working, serious-minded and sincere.

It can't be easy for someone born at the pinnacle of privilege to fully understand and empathise with the barriers and dilemmas, that for e.g. young unemployed people face. I think he has done remarkably well in immersing himself in various social and environmental problems. I get the impression that it is incredibly important to him to use his life and his position for good.

We could have had a 'playboy' style prince. He's a long way from that. I don't think those of us who haven't submitted to arranged marriages can ever comment insightfully on his marital difficulties. The dining chairs look like sex chairs.

bodybooboo · 02/03/2014 17:24

I am always amazed at how they can bear the hoards if oeople surrounding them smiling and laughing at their every comment.

do you actually think they believe they are interesting or intelligent?

Charles comes across as very thick to me. and worse he looks do boring and tedious company.

squoosh · 02/03/2014 17:24

I bet Andrew is an utter cuntpuffin.

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:25

I have no idea where the dining/sex chairs bit came from! Blush Confused

Snowwhite456 · 02/03/2014 17:28

The princes trust is merely one aspect of him.

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:30

Bodyboo I imagine it is incredibly hard not to become a vacuous narcissist when one is surrounded by obsequiousness. I don't think he's done too badly on that score. I wouldn't confuse manner with intelligence either.

The DofC, on the other hand seems really rather spoilt and not much concerned with the UK's issues.

TeamHank · 02/03/2014 17:32

DarlingGrace, out of interest why do you direct anti-monarchists to Australia? Confused

bodybooboo · 02/03/2014 17:32

he has someone run his bath, he has someone putting toothpaste in his brush!! ffs. he's a grown man.

complete and utter twat. Andrew,Anne and Edward look arrogant tossers too.

Crowler · 02/03/2014 17:34

cuntpuffin

LOL.

I can't help myself, I love Prince Charles too.

Dawndonnaagain · 02/03/2014 17:37

Waste of space and the tourist myth is exactly that. Sorry.
Yes I'm republican.

TeamHank · 02/03/2014 17:39

Apparently you need to go to Australia if you're a Republican Dawn! Grin

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:39

So we're told Body but is that really astonishing for an incredibly rich high-born English man of his vintage/.

I'm more surprised/impressed that he has so many interests beyond shooting, fishing etc. I think he's tried hard to create a worthwhile career for himself.

He was starting from a point of wealth and royalty. He couldn't change that. I'm not an apologist for royalty or the class system, but considering him as an individual, I do think he has tried to live a good life.

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:40

Are the Australian Royalists being culled then?Shock

scottishmummy · 02/03/2014 17:40

Gosh don't like any of them
Or the gushing toadying press
All the ma'am sycophancy

BoneyBackJefferson · 02/03/2014 17:40

bodybooboo

that is the case yes but it doesn't excuse her affairs.

hiddenhome · 02/03/2014 17:41

Bleurgh......they're all a bunch of moral degenerates.

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:43

And Diana was patently, palpably unhinged. Can't be any fun to find yourself in a forced marriage to someone like that, with no prospect of divorce. Can't be much fun to be unbalanced either, but she really didn't help herself did she?

scottishmummy · 02/03/2014 17:43

Perhaps Angela Merkel can pop in see royals with news of the old country

TeamHank · 02/03/2014 17:43

No idea fideline - waiting for the poster to come back and explain why republicans need to go to Australia!

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:47

How exciting, is pp paying the airfare?

TeamHank · 02/03/2014 17:49

Hope so Grin! Although I would have to wait for Australia to actually become a republic before I moved there!

I always love the idea that republicans should leave the country rather than trying to get rid of the monarchy - shows a deep understanding of democracy. Although I suppose if you're a monarchist your understanding of democracy is going to be shaky Grin.

bodybooboo · 02/03/2014 17:49

fideline she had a lot more excuse than he did by being so much younger and immature but I wasn't a fan either.

can never ever understand the bowing and scraping. I would burn in hell before I or one of my kids bowed to another human being who was just born to privilege.

what really fucking does my head in is the people who call Anne or any if them hard working!!! my arse.

they wouldn't know a hard days work if it punched them in the face.

vile lazy arrogant freeloaders.

fideline · 02/03/2014 17:49

YANBU OP, by the way (forgot which board i was on Smile )

ihatethecold · 02/03/2014 17:50
