Asda-To think this is stealing?

Shopped with Asda online for many years and i wake up this morning to find they have taken my payment twice.
I am absolutely livid beyond belief they are allowed to do this.
I know i will get the money back eventually, but they have taken my bank into the red aswell. I phoned the bank and they said Asdas have only just started doing this and i could be waiting up to a week to get my money back.
Aibu to think this is stealing and that i should have been pre-warned when ordering that their policy had changed?
Just feel robbed this morning and now my family's trip is ruinedSad

I'll second staying away from Julian, complete twunt.

Tenacity · 29/05/2013 23:43

After reading this thread, I will be avoiding Asda. I don't see why they should benefit from my custom if they treat people like this.
It's quite alarming actually. Angry

Any joy today?

LineRunner · 30/05/2013 14:56

I braved Iceland today and it is much, much cheaper for loads of basics. And either cheaper or the same price for treats.

MisselthwaiteManor · 30/05/2013 15:39

Ooh £1 maltesers, they're my pregnancy craving! I wonder if it still counts as a bargain if you buy many, many boxes.

LineRunner · 30/05/2013 15:56

I would have thought it a shrewd investment, Hoppus.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 30/05/2013 16:05

is this just on debit cards? I am confused... I use Asda / sainsbury regularly but use a credit card as indeed I do for all online purchases and its never happened to me on any purchase even trainline and I have used a debit card there.

pumpkinsweetie · 30/05/2013 18:24

Still no joy, went out for the day and tried to not stress about it. But still no emails 48 hours after promising me.
Phoning the head of the company tomorrow, and then on to the national paper as i'm quite frankly sick of this shit tbh. I want the whole of the UK to know what Asda's are like

I would contact Martin Lewis or BBc watchdog if I were you Pumpkin, they are completely taking the piss now!

catsrus · 30/05/2013 18:49

I sometimes take a friend to a huge asda in the next town - I'm not doing that again, appalling practice. So that's another 2 customers lost!

sleeton · 30/05/2013 22:29

Did anyone acknowledge your email to the ceo's email address, pumpkinsweetie?

I did send an email yesterday (as per my post on this thread Wed 29-May-13 20:11:25) and got an email today saying they would look into the matter and would be back in touch.

Maybe tomorrow!!!
