To be shocked at Game of Thrones - it's very rude!

I just got a copy of series 1 of Game of Thrones from a mate.

It's very rude. It's like Lord of the Rings, only with tits and incest. I had heard about it and thought DS 14 would enjoy something like that. After watching it myself, I think he would enjoy it a little too much.

I think it's fab, but I haven't seen any other TV series that feature so much full frontal nudity. It even has willies!

AIBU to be totally shocked at how rude it is?

Grin YANBU. We are half way through Series 2, it just gets worse! I do think it is very, very good but I could do with a little less incest! Are you enjoying it otherwise?

infamouspoo · 10/04/2013 11:27
Grin we keep a boobage count. But there is plot. Its possible you may have to read the books to spot it however...
SorrelForbes · 10/04/2013 11:28

There wasn't one single boob on show in Season 3, episode 2. DH was most disappointed.

edwardsmum11 · 10/04/2013 11:28

Lol I was shocked and i read some very rude boks.

CajaDeLaMemoria · 10/04/2013 11:29

Yeah, I wouldn't show a 14-year-old it.

It's very adult. It's a great series (the books are amazing too!) but there is a lot of sex and nudity.

My DP recommended his parents watched it, without thinking of the nudity. They made 15 minutes and were horrified. They treat us like we admit to watching hardcore porn now...mortifying.

Fargo86 · 10/04/2013 11:30

The books are even more rude.

expatinscotland · 10/04/2013 11:30

There are just as many cocks. It's equal opportunity. Love it!

bettycocker · 10/04/2013 11:31

I'm loving it Mimstar! Grin But it gets worse? The incest is a bit icky, but it's a good story. My DM has the books and said they were brilliant.

infamouspoo, I'm surprised you can keep up, There's more boobage than I could shake a stick at.

edwardsmum11 · 10/04/2013 11:31

Not read the books, might now... lol

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/04/2013 11:32

Sorrel, i know she wasnt in s3e2 anyway, but the actress who plays Dany has a new no boob clause in her contract...

Empress77 · 10/04/2013 11:32

Theres also a lot of horrific horrific deaths! I think its great although do have to avert my eyes a lot.

Mimstar · 10/04/2013 11:32

I actually find the violence harder to cope with than all the graphic sex. I mean, do we need to see a horse having it's head chopped off?

bettycocker · 10/04/2013 11:33

Sorrel, i know she wasnt in s3e2 anyway, but the actress who plays Dany has a new no boob clause in her contract...

I won't tell DP, he might be a bit sad about that!

'Sorrel, i know she wasnt in s3e2 anyway, but the actress who plays Dany has a new no boob clause in her contract...'

Guess they'll have a costume change, because in Mereen the women wear their left breast out.

Mimstar · 10/04/2013 11:34

Oh yes betty it does get worse! Just when you think you've seen it all Grin

Who is everyones favourite character? I love Daenerys!

bettycocker · 10/04/2013 11:34

There is quite a bit of violence, but as an avid Walking Dead fan I've become desensitised.

OP posts:
Fargo86 · 10/04/2013 11:36

It's an 18 on DVD so probably not suitable for a 14 year old. He'd probably be embarassed watching it with you anyway.

CajaDeLaMemoria · 10/04/2013 11:37

The violence is horrid. I wince, and have to look away...I'm a proper wimp.

bettycocker · 10/04/2013 11:37

My favourite character is Tyrion Lannister, but I'm new to Game of Thrones.

OP posts:
BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/04/2013 11:38

I'm just starting book2 now. Seriously, anyone who hasn't read the books must read them. They make it so much easier to keep track of all the characters! Grin

SorrelForbes · 10/04/2013 11:39

Yep, the torture thing in Ep2 was a bit grim.

Tyrion is my favourite too (he's even better in the books).

I'm not sure that DH has a favourite, but he's probably going to be a bit (mock) miffed at any no-boobage malarky!

Mimstar · 10/04/2013 11:40

Oh yes I do love Tyrion Grin Blood hate Jamie Lannister though!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 10/04/2013 11:40

Anothing Walking Dead fan here and gory horror films too
very little of the violence makes me flinch

Quite a few faves, Daenerys, Tyrion, Arya, Jon Snow...

SorrelForbes · 10/04/2013 11:40

I've read all the books which is driving DH mad. I keep nodding sagely when certain things happen on screen and drop the odd hint about various impending sticky ends.
