Bloody things. Everywhere. Cliche. Dull
But fat arms backs ew.
And back hamsters.

USUAL DISCLAIMERS:

No it's not my business.
Yes I'm a cow
No they shouldn't wear burkas

What the hell is a back hamster?

picnicbasketcase · 14/07/2012 15:34

They look alright on thin people though and you can't ban them for people over a certain size as it would be all, like, sizist or something

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 14/07/2012 15:34

I'd ban them for under size 12's as well. There are very very few people who look good in them, whatever their size. You have to have really good posture as well.

I don't know why they've become the norm. On other threads, people have said it's hard to find dresses that aren't strapless, even if they want one.

AnnaMosity · 14/07/2012 15:34

Those lumps of fat under ill fitting bras

Amusing that you pick up the previous poster on their punctuation...

AnnaMosity · 14/07/2012 15:34

Maybe they are popular because most people don't wear strapless dresses otherwise, and they want something different and special for their wedding.

But then you'd have to ask your self "Why don't I normally wear strapless dresses?"

MrsHelsBels74 · 14/07/2012 15:37

I struggled to find a non-strapless gown and mine was a size 14 when it was ordered. However I had lost quite a bit of weight by my wedding. I had a bolero jacket with mine which eliminated most of the problems.

Ariel24 · 14/07/2012 15:37

I wanted a wedding dress with little sleeves or something. But i also didn't want to spend a fortune on a dress from a bridal shop and bought mine from coast instead. But it had to be strapless, don't know why there isnt more choice.

I'm an 8-10 btw.

LucieMay · 14/07/2012 15:37

I think you have have a good sized rack and thin back and arms to pull them off which rules out most women fat or thin. I don't think they suit women with boney or concave chests.

wimblehorse · 14/07/2012 15:37

OP do you have any pics of you in a wedding dress?

AnnaMosity · 14/07/2012 15:37

Maybe. My answer "I'd look like a munter"

What a vile twatty post people can wear what they want as long as they feel
Happy, not everyone who is bigger than a 12 is unhappy. What a small minded pathetic post, some people need to build a bridge and get the fuck over it!

tanfastic · 14/07/2012 15:37

There are tons of dresses with sleeves now and some absolutely beautiful ones.

I agree with you op. I was a 12 when I married and just got away with the strapless dress in my opinion.

KatherineKavanagh · 14/07/2012 15:37

Aniston. Capital A.

AnnaMosity · 14/07/2012 15:38

Yes. Of course I'll put them on the www.

They are the work of the devil, rarely flattering. I'm wedding dress shopping at the moment and they're everywhere! Sad I want lace and sleeves and high necklines.

gordyslovesheep · 14/07/2012 15:38

Yes OP - I'd love to see how perfect you looked on your big day!

HermioneE · 14/07/2012 15:39

It's not people's weight that makes those dresses look hideous. It's the fact that you need straps to hold up a heavy dress, otherwise it's either sagging down or has to be so tight at the top that the skinniest woman in the world would have "rolls".

IMO.
