Bloody things. Everywhere. Cliche. Dull
But fat arms backs ew.
And back hamsters.

USUAL DISCLAIMERS:

No it's not my business.
Yes I'm a cow
No they shouldn't wear burkas

I think it depends on your shape and knowing what suits your figure rather than size as such. I know some women over a size 14 with fantastic arms and I know some size 10's with bingo wings and shoulders a wrestler would be proud of. If you can pull it off good for you.

Never

cute puppies

Debeezandbirds · 14/07/2012 16:10

Thanks JamieandTheOlympicTorch I shall have a look on Monsoon's website. I'm no skinny minnie and I have builders arms due to carrying and lifting which have gone saggy due to Xbox and cake. I'd put the guests off their dinners if I wore strapless.

Debeezandbirds · 14/07/2012 16:10

Actually there's a pic of me in s strapless on my profile. I'm loving the underarm chub....

NowThenWreck · 14/07/2012 16:11

Integral Knickers sounds like a prog rock band.

Al0uise · 14/07/2012 16:13

Strapless is generally awful on anyone due to the "armgina" effect. You've got to have super toned arms/chest/back/shoulders to get away with it but even so. A wedding dress? Why would you?

mindosa · 14/07/2012 16:15

I think size 12 is too big. I would say size 10. A size 12 and 14 can look amaaaazing in a wedding gown but not in a strapless one

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 14/07/2012 16:16

mindoza - you seem to suggest that no-one over a size 14 can look good in a wedding dress of any kind .

BelleTheBeatnik · 14/07/2012 16:17

Oh dear.

I've seen a quite a few posts from you recently, AnnaMosity. You're certainly living up to your name, aren't you? Hmm

FWIW, strapless dresses aren't the easiest of styles to pull off, but that has little to do with your size - it tends to depend more on your body shape, the tailoring of the dress, and how you carry yourself.

And looking nice is quite worthless if you don't have a personality to match. Wink

AnnaMosity · 14/07/2012 16:17

You say it "arm gyna" right ? Not geena

I would ban prom dresses as well.

AnnaMosity · 14/07/2012 16:20

OddBoots · 14/07/2012 16:20

I think it is up to the bride what she wears but I do think if you are paying the price most bridal shops charge you are entitled to be able to view yourself in one of those 360degree mirrors.

AnnaMosity · 14/07/2012 16:22

Agree old boots. With "blunt friend" app

c0rns - if by prom dress you mean something barely covers arse, and stripper shoes, then I'm with you. The sight of these poor hobbling girls last week made me shudder, they looked so vulnerable

Glaikit · 14/07/2012 16:25

Oh well, I was obviously hideous on my wedding day Hmm

GetOrfMoiiLand · 14/07/2012 16:26

I think they look crap on everyone, even the perfectly figured. But I have said this for years boring everyone to death iin the process.

StrapleSs dresses ok for parties but not for wedding dress when you will be in a million photos showing off your ghastly armpit folds.

Kayano · 14/07/2012 16:27

I had straps on my wedding dress and actually wish I had had sleeves too :D

But yes OP, you are sizist Wink

Foslady · 14/07/2012 16:30

I loved my strapless corset - for once my boobs came into their own instead of being a pita that means I have to buy tops that fit them and nowhere else!

big girls should have the freedom to wave it all about on their wedding days.

but lace, sleeves and high necklines are much nicer.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 14/07/2012 16:35

Strapless dresses are bollocks = prize cunt?

Bloody norah.

mumblecrumble · 14/07/2012 16:38

SO - what would you have brides wear instead?

JamieandTheOlympicTorch · 14/07/2012 16:39

Something they look and feel comfortable in. In church something a bit more demure than some I've seen.

Frontpaw · 14/07/2012 16:39

I find women with curves look a lot better in a fitted strapless dress than slender women. I am a size ten but my arms are huge and flappy, so I deffinately wouldn't wear one. Plus I would she scared my boobs would pop out.

I like my comfort, so think nick-nacks and high heels are out too. And I feel the cold, so it would be comfy slacks, wellies and a wooly-pully for me.
