Grin thats a good one lashings.

honestly though, a man wouldnt get this shit, no wonder women struggle to get on in a career when we cant even support each other and recognise a work ethic and effort in another woman!

Panfriedstardust · 13/02/2012 18:21

aaanyways..I thought DB looked happy, confident, quite on the ball as it were banter-wise and in some places quite funny. Highly likeable.

MrsHeffley · 13/02/2012 18:28

Tosh!

I see VB has released a collection this week alongside the Harper bag.So this is why we had the Hello shoot in her underwear last week, hubby on TV and a pap primed pic of VB and hubby avec baby leaving a NY restaurant this week.

Said Ms Beckham has basically used her boobs, her baby and her husband to get the message out re her latest collection sorry I don't feel the need to support that.I personally would rather support the design grads just leaving college with huge debts and a mountain to climb.

I was a teacher and whilst I appreciate teaching is bloody hard work compared to the Peruvian train drivers I saw on TV last night it's nothing.

Jobs differ in how hard they are and how exhausting.Don't see why all of a sudden every job is the same.Hmm

jesuswhatnext · 13/02/2012 18:42

mrsh - its called PR, all businesses use it, including design grads, i know because i work with quite a few of them.

MrsHeffley · 13/02/2012 19:17

You don't see Stella Mc doing Hello photo shoots in her underwear, her husband interviewed continuously or her children continuously photographed in designer togs to compliment her designs both in mags and every prearranged pap op going.

In fact I don't think I've ever seen one of SM's kids photographed or her spreadeagled in a photo shoot.I don't think either are necessary to sell a brand, plenty manage without doing it.

noddyholder · 13/02/2012 19:22

her boobs pmsl where?

noddyholder · 13/02/2012 19:24

People pretty much do what it takes when they are promoting their own businesses. Msheffley why are you bothered are you down pit or something? Surely it doesn't really matter

ifancyashandy · 13/02/2012 19:31

But you do see Richard Branson abseiling in his speedos and selling his daughters wedding to Hello magazine. Problem with him doing PR?

DamnBamboo · 13/02/2012 19:47

Fuck me Mrs you are pretty damning.

Spread-eagled in a photoshoot? Really?

BsshBossh · 13/02/2012 20:52

YABU. Dress designer and footballer = "proper job" and they are both quite talented. How much they earn doesn't come into it. You sound bitter.

LaughingGas · 13/02/2012 21:00

no read the whole thread but funniest thing i heard from DB mouth was about one of the boys being christened.

yes, he will be christened, but not sure what religeon it will be yet.
Shock Grin

probably already been said on the thread a thousand times though.

LaughingGas · 13/02/2012 21:02

religion

jesuswhatnext · 13/02/2012 22:19

mrsh - SM has no objection to being photographed for use in Vogue/Harpers etc wearing her own clothes, usually at bashes being thrown to promote someones product, occasionally her own - again, its called PR, how a brand uses PR its its own business, but believe me, they all do!

yellowraincoat · 13/02/2012 22:28

So you'd be ok with it if she was a good girl who kept her legs closed, MrsH?

I'm starting to have a real problem with the huge level of slutshaming that goes on on this website. Is the objectification of women a problem? Obviously. Is it ok to bash women for being sexual in a public place for whatever reason? Not really.

scottishmummy · 13/02/2012 22:32

what the hell is slutshaming
what's on your mind?

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 13/02/2012 22:32

MrsH She doesn't do Hello shoots or any weekly mags other than grazia, or newspaper supplements we occasionally let Hello (never ok!) have access to pictures from other fashion magazine shoots or charity events, or product launches and they get to use a picture if they make a charity donation - but she last did a proper shoot for hello OK or similar 8 yrs ago

yellowraincoat · 13/02/2012 22:35

Here you go scottishmummy.

There's this new website you might enjoy

scottishmummy · 13/02/2012 22:42

ta, will look
but I didn't agree. with slutwalk premise.at all

yellowraincoat · 13/02/2012 22:44

That's not what it's about. At all.

Shakey1500 · 13/02/2012 22:46

I like the Beckhams. Neither was born with a silver spoon in their mouths and they have made good. He is very talented at his job, her less so as a singer granted but who would turn down "being in the right place at the right time"? She made the most of it and has since succeeded at designing. They have gorgeous/seemingly grounded kids kept relatively out of the limelight, deal with everything that life has thrown at them with dignity, remain a strong couple, avoid scandal and appear very much in love. Good for them I say Grin

yellowraincoat · 13/02/2012 22:51

VB hardly came from working class stock though. She was actually quite well off.

scottishmummy · 13/02/2012 22:51

no I know they are different
just thinking and typing.it reminded me
I agree yes don't decry women on basis sexual activity /enjoyment. but I find it hard not to comment on the notion pole dancing is empowering and glamour modeling, wag types being touted as ok options

garageflower · 13/02/2012 22:53

I don't really get the criticisms aimed at them and agree with what many posters have already said.

Also, whilst the amount of money in football is astounding, I don't understand why it's compared to other industries' wages. The money in football is there through either money put in by 'us' as fans, or rich business men, or things such as TV rights (which is down to public interest again). The money's there because it's generated - so while it's huge amounts compared to other jobs, it isn't taking from other people in the same way that taxpayer money is.

If that makes sense Confused

scottishmummy · 13/02/2012 22:53

so what if vb not from school hard knocks
neither is Stella
I like vb

galletti · 13/02/2012 22:55

I have read the first four pages of this only, but I just want to say to the OP - David Beckham is not talentless! Do some research before you spout rubbish. (And I am not even a football fan).
