I've been dong some intensive reseacrh via Jeremy Kyle and find it amazing how many people shag different people one day to the next.

Is this normal behaviour?

I always assumed most people tend to only do one at a time, with at least a couple of weeks break in between and therefore know who would be the father of their progeny.

Am I hoplesly naiive and old fasioned?

well, i'm not remotely jeremy kyle-esque, but back in the days of being single, i was usually pretty regularly sleeping with say 2 to 4 blokes at any given time - i don't mean different ones every day, but ongoing non monogamous relationships with several people, so had i got pregnant i guess it might have been difficult to say which one was the father.

It's only extraordinary if you subscribe to 1950s notions of propriety and how women who "give it away easily" are slags.
If you consider sex is a healthy and enjoyable occupation enjoyed by most people, then why would waiting a few weeks in between partners make any difference?
Safe sex and unwanted pregnancies is a totally different matter, however.

I'm a perfectly normal woman and I went through a phase of shagging loads of different blokes over about 6 months in my early 20s. Sex was fun. Pulling made me feel attractive and powerful (was getting over a breakup with long term emotionally abusive bf) I had a whale of a time. I always used protection but had that failed I wouldnt have had a clue who the father was. I don't think I was a harlot, I just enjoyed sex for what it was with no strings attached, I never cheated on a boyfriend, nor did I see any of those men again after I slept with them, they were one night stands.
