I've been dong some intensive reseacrh via Jeremy Kyle and find it amazing how many people shag different people one day to the next.

Is this normal behaviour?

I always assumed most people tend to only do one at a time, with at least a couple of weeks break in between and therefore know who would be the father of their progeny.

Am I hoplesly naiive and old fasioned?

Yep. Young harlots in and out of beds like nobody's business.

MateyMooo · 03/02/2012 10:28

i think that there is a flaw in your research.... you havent based it on normal people you have based it on the personality type that would actually appear on JK!

i'd be too ashamed to get up in front of MY DAD and tell him i didnt know who the dad of my baby was.... never mind the whole nation!

AtYourCervix · 03/02/2012 10:29

but nobody bats an eyelid.

what are the chances of accidentally concieving and not knowing who fathered it if itis not normal behaviour for them?

well, i'm not remotely jeremy kyle-esque, but back in the days of being single, i was usually pretty regularly sleeping with say 2 to 4 blokes at any given time - i don't mean different ones every day, but ongoing non monogamous relationships with several people, so had i got pregnant i guess it might have been difficult to say which one was the father.

Gay40 · 03/02/2012 10:32

It's only extraordinary if you subscribe to 1950s notions of propriety and how women who "give it away easily" are slags.
If you consider sex is a healthy and enjoyable occupation enjoyed by most people, then why would waiting a few weeks in between partners make any difference?
Safe sex and unwanted pregnancies is a totally different matter, however.

Birdsgottafly · 03/02/2012 10:34

Do you mean people or women?

I assume women because you mention pregnancy.

The amount of unprotected sex is the part that bothers me, both male and female.

Not everyone wants a relationship.

BupcakesandCunting · 03/02/2012 10:34

"but nobody bats an eyelid."

Jeremy bats an eyelid. In fact, his eyelids are batting so fast, it must look to him like there is a strobe light going off in his face.

Birdsgottafly · 03/02/2012 10:36

Oh "is this normal behaviour?" Yes.

Usual (not knowing who the father is), probably less so.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 03/02/2012 10:38

I'm a perfectly normal woman and I went through a phase of shagging loads of different blokes over about 6 months in my early 20s. Sex was fun. Pulling made me feel attractive and powerful (was getting over a breakup with long term emotionally abusive bf) I had a whale of a time. I always used protection but had that failed I wouldnt have had a clue who the father was. I don't think I was a harlot, I just enjoyed sex for what it was with no strings attached, I never cheated on a boyfriend, nor did I see any of those men again after I slept with them, they were one night stands. I'm now a respectable married woman with 2 kids, and I've never been on jk or even watched it unless I had no choice except in a&e where you can either watch jk on the screen or look around you and watch shameless in real life.

AtYourCervix · 03/02/2012 10:39

really though? really? (i am very 1950s and out of touch and very very prudish) do people really shag 4 people at a time? gosh.

OP posts:
AtYourCervix · 03/02/2012 10:40

god i think i need therapy.

BupcakesandCunting · 03/02/2012 10:40

I liked Jeremy's side-parting this morning. It's his third hairstyle of the week.

Birdsgottafly · 03/02/2012 10:41

I have had more than one man 'on the go' but i was still respectible at the time.

AtYourCervix · 03/02/2012 10:41

and i'm not saying it is harlotish or slagish - just wondered if it is averae behaviour.

OP posts:
mrsravelstein · 03/02/2012 10:42

yes, they really do, and it's really totally fine as long as nobody who is being shagged thinks they're the only ones being shagged

AtYourCervix · 03/02/2012 10:42

it was neither fanny nor hitler youth but somewhere in between.

Whatmeworry · 03/02/2012 10:42

do people really shag 4 people at a time?

I think most people leave a few hours beteen them :o

Probably most people shag more than one person a bit of the time, a few people do most of the time etc etc.

TurkeyBurgerThing · 03/02/2012 10:42

I think Jeremy is the reincarnation of Herrod.

He also has dinosaur eyes.

Birdsgottafly · 03/02/2012 10:42

You are not asking about people, though, are you, you are asking about women. Well your thread title is focusing on women.

Quodlibet · 03/02/2012 10:42

Bupcakes you made me spit out my tea.

BupcakesandCunting · 03/02/2012 10:43

It was like a Little Lord Fauntleroy side-parting today. Little twat.

solidgoldbrass · 03/02/2012 10:43

Hey, I have done four at a time. Luckily I used contraception.

BupcakesandCunting · 03/02/2012 10:44

Oh cripes. Mumsnet's very own sexpert is in da house...

kreecherlivesupstairs · 03/02/2012 10:45

I wish I'd shagged more people when I had the opportunity. Poor Sad faced me.
Each to their own is my opinion, as long as everyone is consenting and protection is used it's not my business.

Whatmeworry · 03/02/2012 10:45

He also has dinosaur eyes

Love it!
