I can't believe the headlines from the last 2 days; I thought he Milly Dowler story was bad enough but to target the Soham girls as well is beyond contempt. Infact I can't remember a story that has got me so angry in years.

I honestly believe that the entire country should boycott the paper and see their sales achieve 0 on Sunday

YANBU!! This story made me see red Angry

Thegreenfliesareonme · 05/07/2011 23:05

I agree. I've never bought it and never will.

trixymalixy · 05/07/2011 23:05

Shocking!

I have never bought NoW anyway, but will make a special effort not to on principle on Sunday!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 05/07/2011 23:06

YANBU

Pippinintherain · 05/07/2011 23:07

YANBU. Them and their sister papers need to be boycotted.

Tchootnika · 05/07/2011 23:07

Y would be v U if you considered buying NoW.

scarlettsmummy2 · 05/07/2011 23:08

Totally agree, and I think Rebekah WAde should be sacked, I don't believe for a second she was unaware this was going on.

Greythorne · 05/07/2011 23:09

Yanbu

LineRunner · 05/07/2011 23:17

The advertisers are running scared, not surprisingly.

worraliberty · 05/07/2011 23:19

YANBU it's disgusting

comedycentral · 05/07/2011 23:20

YANBU, it's dreadful.

takethisonehereforastart · 05/07/2011 23:20

The boycott group set up on facebook have just posted a link to the telegraph saying they also hacked the phones of the 7/7 bombing victims and families.

Kalinda · 05/07/2011 23:21

Never have, never will.

What about the rest of the News International empire? The Sun, The Times, Sky TV. The NOTW is just one turd in the arse that is Rupert Murdoch.

MrsFogi · 05/07/2011 23:28

I doubt many mners buy NotW. However, I will not be buying the Sunday Times going forward. The query is what the boycott aims to achieve - I will be sending a message that I find their actions disgusting. I will not be appeased by the resignation of the Chief Exec, I would also like to see sizeable (very sizeable) sums of money paid to the charity of Millie's parents' choice. Then I will think about buying a paper from the Murdoch stable again.

Spuddybean · 05/07/2011 23:29

i dont buy anything Murdoch related anyway, and i thought i already had zero respect for the NoW but this has managed to disgust me - i honestly cannot believe they would have done something so low; giving false hope to the Dowler family.

Sometimes i think i'm a different species to some people. Seriously, what would have to happen to you to think that was in any way okay?

Tchootnika · 05/07/2011 23:29

MrsFogi - you are very forgiving.

Tchootnika · 05/07/2011 23:30

... far too forgiving, IMO.

JoleneJoleneJoleneJoleeene · 05/07/2011 23:31

Wade needs to go.

Mischif · 05/07/2011 23:33

have felt for over a decade now that NoW ruins people's lives through lies. wld never buy it. absolutely appalling - notice that they try to distance themselves, saying it was a PI and not them.

cricketballs · 05/07/2011 23:34

its not jsut Milly's family though; to target the Soham girls parents is so low I can't even put it into words

OP posts:
Spuddybean · 05/07/2011 23:41

cricketballs - i dont know what they did to the wells/chapman family but i am presuming it was after the girls were discovered. Not saying it's right - it's fucking disgraceful.
But for me the false hope with the Dowlers; thinking Milly may still be alive or putting police off the right track, inferring she had run away, is possibly the cruelest thing i can imagine.

magicmummy1 · 05/07/2011 23:43

I would love to boycott but have never bought it anyway, so not much of a statement. I think it's sickening that they have stooped to such depths just to get a story.

Andrewofgg · 06/07/2011 06:58

YANBU. But boycott is an individual decision and if people you know at work buy a Murdoch paper that is theri business and not yours - or the employer's.

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 06/07/2011 07:02

So shocking I actually felt sick reading about it.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 06/07/2011 07:10

I don't buy it so can't boycot it. However once in a blue moon we did get the Sunday Times, no longer will that happen. Can't cancel Sky as don't have it. Will be looking very closely at the advertisers and shopping accordingly .

Agree it is down to individual conscience but find it hard to believe there are many people who aren't totally sickened by what we've been hearing.
