Hmm. I don't drive. I would have to call an ambulance or a taxi in case of emergency. I don't ever get drunk, so having a couple of glasses of wine would not impair my judgment. So why would it be an irresponsible thing to do?

YABU.

belgo · 15/01/2011 15:19

FGS if you have an issue with her parenting ask her on the thread itself. Don't start a new thread critising her.

Your choice not to drink, I don't think you should be making judgements about what other people choose to do in their own homes though.

I don't like saying this on here, but what is it to you?

MoonUnitAlpha · 15/01/2011 15:20

Why?

scuzy · 15/01/2011 15:20

because if anything happened and your half cut what would happen? had to go to doc? cudnt drive? arriving at A&E stinking of drink? falling into a drunken sleep??

earwicga · 15/01/2011 15:21

YABU.

I chose not to, but I live in the middle of nowhere and I drive.

Take this back to the thread.

her thread got me thinking is all. just my opinion. why endanger your kids? and i'm not talking about one glass of wine ....

Ooopsadaisy · 15/01/2011 15:22

Depends on the age of dcs.

I knew of a woman who was spannered all day and all night with 2 dcs under 4.

I was told that she got in the car and drove them somewhere too.

That, to me IS VERY unreasonable (and illegal, clearly).

scuzy · 15/01/2011 15:22

lol metherbumfit i dont drink!nice diversion there tho.

scoutliam · 15/01/2011 15:23

Good for youHmm, but as long as you don't plan on getting absolutely hammered what's the big deal about having a couple of glasses of wine? How is it "irresponsible"
Yabu and pious and judgmental.

belgo · 15/01/2011 15:23

Then ask her on her thread. Ask her if she's planning on getting blind drunk.

Don't assume something and then start another thread about her.

Scuzy, I can't drive but would never get so drunk that I would arrive at A&E stinking of drink.

Getting that drunk alone would be sad in itself.

but why even risk it? food youve eaten being tired can all have different effects of one glass of wine ....

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 15/01/2011 15:23

Are you talking about this thread?

If it is you've not even posted on the thread.

I'm sure the OP would have something to say if you question her on her parenting choices (if she's the opinionated outspoken poster I think she is Grin)

GlynistheMenace · 15/01/2011 15:23

since when did having wine 'endanger your kids'?

SerendipitousHarlot · 15/01/2011 15:23

Oh don't be so ridiculous. We are talking about an adult here, she can do what she likes whilst parenting her own children.

It's not abusive or neglectful, she's just having a drink. Ffs, this sort of stuff really annoys me.

unfitmother · 15/01/2011 15:23

How sanctimonious are you?

scuzy · 15/01/2011 15:24

my god she said she was planning to do it, prob wouldnt now if she was on her own .... it just got me thinking!!!

OP posts:
MoonUnitAlpha · 15/01/2011 15:24

I can have a few glasses of wine in the evening without being wasted, I'm not 15 anymore!

I don't drive anyway so that's not an issue.
