Scuzy I never drink if I'm solely responsible for the kids (7mo, 22mo) because I want to be totally sober if anything happened, but I don't think I'm the 'norm'. I'm a real worrier, the anxious type. I think most people are more laid back and don't see the risk that I see. FWIW I'm not much of a drinker anyway and can't remember the last time I had more than 1/2 glass of wine.

So I think YANBU to have your opinion, but YABU to think anyone else will agree with you!

I haven't read all of this, don't have time, but I see nothing wrong with a couple of drinks while you're alone with the children. A couple wont put you under table or render you incapable of caring for them will it?

Drinking to excess and gertting drunk surely is dangerous but not a moderate amount.

BTW I'm not a drinker at all and I'll struggle to finish one glass of wine. I just don't like it all that much.

But if you can't drink wihtout having a huge amount then i'd say don't drink alone with DC's in the house.

I'm a single parent and never drink if I am alone with my child.

I have had the odd glass of wine but never really enjoyed it on my own and in the back of my mind is the worry of not being easily woken if there was a problem.

Scuzy

Look don't worry about it - ignore the bloody cackling hags who are baying for your blood! Most people get flamed on aibu at some point or another! It doesn't mean anything to you in real life and nor should it!

Yes you were quite unreasonable in many ways but you are entitled to your opinion and if you believe I'm something you should not feel you have to bow down to other people's opinions

I don't agree with many opinions and many many the fucking witches of the lovely ladies here don't agree with me but that is fine as we are all entitled to our opinions - it just gets very heated here

Don't take it to heart x

I had two thirds of a bottle of red last night. DS is alive, the house is still standing and nothing major occured, such as the earth stopping spinning on it's axis, as a result.

Who knew that such high japes were so inconsequential?!

scuzy - I see this is still lurching on!

Glad to see you've survived the flaming.

Nothing wrong with everyone having a different opinion - they just don't have to be nuclear-armed!
