Ah, excellent! Well done Grin

A massive round of applause

Next time, ask for RL help more quickly

Triggles · 21/12/2010 18:12

Oh, so very glad you got out. It can be so stressful being stuck anyway with kids in the car, it's just so much more stressful when it's in an unfamiliar area.

Although the paring knife is interesting.... Confused Grin

soccerwidow · 21/12/2010 18:12

woop woop!

went off to sort out kids tea, glad to see that you had escaped!

ChristmasTrolleyRage · 21/12/2010 18:15

Will do! Blush

Just to let you know - the car was never in a dangerous, road-blocking position. Initially I was stuck in turning circle at the end of a very quiet cu-de-sac and then facing upwards on said road with plenty of room for a car to pass if indeed one came.

My reaction would have been completely different if the car (and therefore DCs) was in danger, or it was posing a danger.

Right off to brave the M42.

Thanks again.

Smile

Good luck getting the rest of the way home. People are great at helping if you ask. Several people stopped to offer me a lift today when I was trudging through the snow. :)

PenelopeTitsDropped · 21/12/2010 19:17

No.
Not round of applause.
You were fucking stupid.

You were clearly incapable of driving in snow; but you did it anyway with your children in the car.

I rode a motorbike for 15 years; everywhere apart from Australia/NZ. It was my only mode of transport in those years.

I have "road-craft", having ridden a motorbike all weather conditions (including the Atric Circle). But more importantly. Day in, Day out in the UK (Britain).

I don't know if the journey was important.

Important for me would be delivering Diabetes meds for my Mother

(that's why I've made a journey in horrendous conditions)

Just a word.

You pack shovel, flask, blankets, bananas. water high energy bars, empty ; coal sacks (or similar); extra socks and shoes outside the wellies.

I don't understand why any Woman (the OP)would go outside the home with so little Road Craft and Children in the car.

Well done OP - had a nasty slide today that came out of nowhere too. Despite knowing how to drive on snow/ice.

"Road Craft" there's a self-important assessment of driving skill if ever I saw one. You'll be talking about Unagi next.....
